How many games has McCafrey, Kinlaw, Bosa, all missed over the last few years?

Trey hasn't even gotten started.

If Trey is a bust, someone should be fired = Head Coach or GM.

3 first rounders and a third?? That should be a fireable offense no?
IMO, no, given the whole body of work.

They've always been well ran.

i was reading an article and it talked about a big reason, outside of cost, they they felt comfortable letting so many people go this off season is because they have a bunch of guys they've drafted they they feel good about over the last few years.

We were in the super bowl in 2013 and 2019, we weren't at rock bottom for long. When Harbaugh got us to the super bowl we hadn't been there since 1995 (94 season).

Accountability is Accountability, I don't hope anyone is fired but I would expect it.

The 2012 team and the Super Bowl appearance drought between that season and 1994 really have nothing to do with Shanahan's regime.

When he and Lynch took over we had one of the worst rosters in the NFL and were in the Super Bowl by their 3rd full season with arguably the best overall roster in the NFL. We've had one of the best rosters in the league in each of the seasons since, and will again this coming season. This is an example of extremely successful asset management overall.

I don't care about the best roster unless we are winning super bowls and so far we have no trophies to show for it. We have to be careful with first round picks in order to win super bowls, see the Kansas City Chiefs.

During this best roster time period, how many times have we had the #1 offense? How many times have we had the #1 defense? I feel like we were a few draft picks away from winning 2-3 super bowls at this point.
Interesting to see HOU moved from 12 to 3.. which was our move on TL

I'm gonna have to dock HOU a bit as much as I like Stroud / Anderson, they surrendered their #1 pick in 2024, and they suck, that could be #1 overall going to Arizona
but I guess Arizona would have had Will Anderson if they stood at #3.. not sure what to think here..

This is the biggest difference between our move and the Texans move. we have given up two #28 or #29 picks, I would be pissed if we gave up what the Broncos gave up for Wilson (#5 overall).

Maybe, but you're not crediting the fact that we're right on the doorstep of that ultimate goal because of the success these guys have had building the team. It's honestly a really odd argument.

As easily as a handful of different selections could have put us over the hump, a handful of different selections could have put us out of the window of contention.

Analyze the whole picture.

Don't the Texans have a bunch of picks from the watson trade still? I'm pretty sure they still have Cleveland's first round pick next year.

LIONS got the best RB in the draft.. I expect them to finally win that Division..

Bruh, I don't dislike the RB but this defense couldn't stop a traffic cone last season. You get a slow LB with 3 sacks in 4 yrs, but can't get Hutchinson some help. And why the hell pay Montgomery if you're gon get this RB, you got Swift too. Campbell talking bout biting off kneecaps then he does this s**t with two 1st rd picks

yeah.. I just really like Will Anderson, but I would really have a hard time giving up next years 1, if I am them, that's a multi year rebuild.

say they took Stroud and didn't trade with Arizona, they could have paired Stroud with JSN for example at 12, kept next years one

Gibbs seems legit, their O seems good, I like Campbell I had him to BUF 1st round, which I thought was kind of a reach, lil stunned he went top 20, you don't see off ball LBs that high, good player tho

We have been on the doorstep since 1996.

Yes they are. But it's also why you don't want to trade away so much for Trey Lance. They got some powerful and fast guys to add to that already great defense. They may even be better. That's scary for us.

Assuming Carter's red flags don't get the best of him.

Meh. This draft is so weak in talent at the top.

Jalen Carter is a guy who played on the "best defense ever" at UGA and only managed to put up 6 career sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss in 35 games (also only 4 career passes defended and 2 career forced fumbles). Yet everyone is crowning him as the best defensive player in the draft. He has significant questions off the field as well as weight issues AND maturity red flags.

Nolan Smith (many of what is said above is relevant here) is another who everyone gets caught up in the 4.3 40 time. He played in 38 career games with 12.5 sacks and 20 tackles for loss (also 3 career passes defended and 3 career forced fumbles). People are comparing him to Von Miller and stating he is the "twitchiest" and most "bendable" edge in the draft.

This stuff is ridiculous.

Honestly watching the draft without the 49ers having a pick in the first two rounds makes me realize how dumb and click bait these analysts are. I watched the ESPN broadcast the whole first round and heard the following:

Bijon Robinson comp to Saquon Barkley with the pass catching of Christian McCaffrey
Calijah Kancey comp to Aaron Donald
Zay Flowers comp to Tyreek Hill
Michael Mayer comp to Jason Witten

This is absolutely insane. These analysts need to stop putting out comps.
