But generally, the drafting record is impressive.

Poor drafting record in the first 3 rounds since 2020.
8 out of 12 picks in premium rounds 1-3 are busts or reaches
:

3 2023 Ji'Ayir Brown ..... Jury's Out
3 2023 Jake Moody ....... Reach
3 2023 Cameron Latu .... Bust-ish also was a Reach
2 2022 Drake Jackson ... Jury's Out
3 2022 Ty Davis-Price .... Reach
3 2022 Danny Gray ........ Bust-ish
1 2021 Trey Lance ......... Bust-ish
2 2021 Aaron Banks ...... OK
3 2021 Trey Sermon ...... Bust
3 2021 Ambry Thomas ... Bust-ish
1 2020 Javon Kinlaw ...... Bust
1 2020 Brandon Aiyuk .... Good

And we still have the best roster in the league

Yep. One point is being missed. The front office have built an excellent roster. Drafting into an already strong roster is extremely difficult. I don't see the point that they are trying to make. Lynch and co have taken one of the worst rosters in the NFL and built it into one of the best. And managed the salary cap whilst they are doing it. So let's moan about it.

This is a cop out, and one this staff has tried to use on us fans. Drafting no matter what is extremely difficult, but this is how you end up with Jake Moodys in the third, Cam Latus, TDPs etc. You draft good players, period. You don't pass on players because they won't beat out a starter day one. You draft players to replace Oren Burks, Jaylon Moore, Isaiah Oliver.
Seems like our "pickers" always try to outsmart the player rankings...I think this board often does a better job. Kinlaw instead of CD Lamb or Justin Jefferson...like that. I know the "hindsight is 20/20" thing and all, but geez.

Amen. And are we seriously saying they couldn't have drafted a OT or OG in the 3 round that couldn't have beaten out Mckvitiz and/or Burford?
with 11 picks I think we trade up in multiple rounds. I think when the draft is all said and done we have 6-8 picks.
I want us to trade our early picks for an established game changer and then just do our late round magic

I think that late round magic was due to Adam Peters but we'll see
Wrong thread.
