There is good and bad in having Dion as your coach

On the plus side...in this day and age with college players being able to actually get paid....Dion gets you on TV... Dion gets you talked about...

On the flip side.... Dion needs to put his foot down and get Hunter sorted out...

I also don't think Dion is doing his Son a solid talking him out of going to the NFL. I could be really wrong on that....I dont know where he is being talked about in the draft or as a prospect...maybe Sanders is getting feedback that he is a mid round guy or late pick....and he feels he should be much higher....but the coach in general should be trying to get his guys into the NFL as quickly as possible.

Dion put a target on his teams back....and everyone is treating the Colorado games like bowl games...I dont think that helps his guys any....

we shall see how it all pans out....

He is

looks like the dude got Dinged up...again.... I am not positive on this, but I think he was on offense again when he went down again.

Dude went out, and the defense collapsed. It was a competitive game, until it wasn't.

Hunter needs to forget offense, get off of offense and just be the absolute best CB he can be.
yea both of his int's were things of beauty
He got picked on a bit against Oregon State, so one week after a light load on offense and great defense...he is back to a larger snap count and getting targeted a bit on defense.

He did get another 40 yard deep catch, and again probably offensive pass interference. He had to extend both arms to get separation to catch the ball, but this game was the first time I have seen him go by someone deep...no catch, but did draw PI deep. I think this puts his deep count at 40ish, 40ish catches, and 30-40ish PI call on the season.

I really wish they would just let the dude go all out on Defense. His only real "bad" snap on defense was a 20ish yard completion in his zone when he stumbled trying to close on a TE. Dude probably was a bit winded by that point. He got beat on a slant and a comeback on the boundary, I think only one of them went for a FD. Considering his snap count not to terrible. The slant he got beat on he clearly wanted to shade outside too, that is as much on the defensive call as it was on him.

He had another short area pass break up, and I am like 90% sure they intended to throw at him in the redzone but he shut his guy down and the QB scrambled.

This dude's talent is SCREAMING to be a full time zone CB. I don't think he has world class man 2 man speed, heck I dont think he is fast by college standards, but the dude is twitchy as all get out...even playing a billion snaps a game.

Probably a dude that will be a better NFL player than College player. Quick hands, quick mind, quick feet and a NFL size frame. I don't think the NFL would ask him to turn his back to the QB nearly as much as he has in college.

I hope he runs a s**tty 40 time at the Combine. I'm gonna root against him at the Combine as a matter of fact.

there is a chance, maybe not a great chance, but a chance he does not go super early.

I missed 90% of the game today, but saw on the quick recap at the end of the game he got beat a few times. He is just in a unique situation....most of the time when we are talking elite CBs, we are talking about a dude that has help from the rest of the defense letting him get those long streaks of not giving up passes. Hunter is giving up passes every week, but the dude is also taking a bazillion snaps and the rest of that defense is not at his level...to be blunt he is not getting a ton of help. Unless we are talking Charles Woodson, we don't have a lot of two way players to compare him to. Hunter is not anywhere remotely the same level of player as Charles Woodson (but who is at the college level), but we can't really say hey this dude did this as a two way and did that in the NFL playing one side of the ball. It is hard to gage that. Yes he is a great athlete playing all those snaps, but we have seen the dude run out of gas in the 4th.

Hunter has avoid running any timed events up to this point, he has skipped them at every event that I can find..... only reason to do that is he knows he will turn in a slow time. He likely will avoid running at the combine too.

Personally, I could care less....I would drop the draft capital on him and not think twice. I think the dude is going to be a much....muuuuuchhhhhhh.....better Pro then he is as a college player. It is border line criminal how he is being used at Colorado. To me the dude is a Tier A+ Tampa 2 style CB, as a WR he is nothing special. There are probably 80 dudes you could drop into that offense and they would do similar stuff.

I think if the only thing Hunter had to worry about every day of the week is how am I going to be the best CB in college football today he would be turning more heads for the right reasons. It is no mystery that Hunter's best game came in the week he got back to basics and was primarily a defender.

Bottom line, as good as Hunter has looked, we have not seen the best version of him...the two way stuff is robbing us of that.

All we can do is hope the 49ers could get a dude as good as Hunter is, he is fantastic at exactly what the 49ers need a CB to be fantastic at.

Deion is definitely wearing him out. And I agree we may not get to see his full potential till the Pros. I just saw highlights of his and that's exactly who I want opposite of Ward. I love his awareness and very good ball skills, that's exactly why he also plays receiver. I think some of what he does will definitely get called for a penalty like he pushes receivers right off the snap. Not a jam but a push. Lol It doesn't matter though I'm sire they'll coach him up whoever gets him.
Hunter is super athletic and has that football iq

when he hits the nfl he will probably be super raw on technique and I think will have some health concerns
Hopefully it was just his youth coming out, but dude dodged 2-15 yard unsportsmanlike flags in the Washington State game, border line maybe flirting with automatic ejection. Not the first time this season his emotions have gotten the better of him. Just one more reason Hunter is going to be a better PRO than college player, dude needs a professional environment to channel his talents, not the crap fest that goes on at Colorado.

I have been pretty pro Prime Time, but there is clearly a team effort to talk a ton of junk...almost to bully the other team with before and after the play action and taunting. I have never seen a Crappier team talk so much. Lucky Washington State had mercy on them, had that been Florida from the 2000s they would have put 100 points on them last night.

Just incase some one is keeping track, Hunter had his best long pass reception last night, 45 yards that really showed off his ability to track an off pass over his shoulder and flip around to catch it. That pass was ALL Travis Hunter, probably a bad pass, but an epic save for a much needed TD. Clutch as hell.

I think he's a BUST..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, he's not draft eligible for 2024
