Penix and Williams were both solid in this game but the difference was USC's inability to stop the run at all. 316 yards on the ground! Crazy.

Steve Wilkes is moonlighting on Saturdays

Exactly.

Again, talent and coaching or execution are different things. 49ers went from 2nd in run defense to 26th in run defense, are you gonna tell me it's a talent thing or a coaching thing??

And you're totally missing the point to this whole argument, your bias is carrying you away.

And you act like USC just played Hawaii at home, that was Michael Penix and #5 Washington schooling USC.

Coaching and scheme.

Pennix and Washington are awesome.

I was watching that game and Washington's O-line was cleaning out USC's D-line. I like Washington's Center, we gotta get him!!!!
I don't think the USC defense could stop Mater Dei High School. Williams and Penix can both pass but Williams is better when he has to move out of the pocket. Speaking of a QB that can run, the Alabama QB is really explosive. He's got a good arm but his accuracy is terrible. His running game is another thing all together. He's big and runs in the 4.4 range. When he makes a cut upfield he just accelerates like a rocket.
Looking for you mom to cry on her shoulder , for a regular season game ?

I thought you were joking. After losing to Utah, sat on the bench looking for pity.

ok....not a great look....

Let's not even assign intent, or try to mind read the guy...

A plausible opinion is yes, dude had to find him mama so she could manage his emotions for him, and yes at best you have body language issues.

A possible opinion is this dude might not be ready for the ups and downs you ask of a professional athlete, and he might not have that incredibly desirable "never say die" personality type.

When crap is falling apart how important it is that your team can turn to their leader and know that guy in unflappable?

I don't know enough about CW to say what mental reserves he has or does not have, but I know the NFL wants that from it's QBs, and CW did not take this loss as well as most QBs would.

Showing weakness is something you just dont do, especially as a leader....dude has invited a ton attention to himself, and all kinds of stuff correctly or incorrectly are going to be tied to him emotionally falling apart during a time when the spotlight was on him.

Dude is talking about cuddling with dogs in sadness and paints his nails .

different generation, I get it .
I think that off schedule stuff is going to get him a lot of fumbles in the NFL against bigger, stronger, faster guys. He already has some of the most fumbles over time for equal time period to other guys in comparison. He's good but I think there are weaknesses to his game. As for how he psychologically reacts I wouldn't read too much into that. He's young and that reaction doesn't bother me a huge amount.

Washington is a very good team. BUT.. 572 yards and 52 points? LOL Same team that could only score 15 at home vs a bad Arizona St team.

I have no bias whatsoever. I simply call it as I see it which is...
1) Williams is damn good and will be the #1 pick in the draft in my opinion
2) USC's defense is PATHETIC and is the reason this team has lost 3 games. They may have a couple of players
who will play on Sundays but overall that D is HARDLY stacked.

He is an amazing college QB. I think he will be great in the NFL too but there are no guarantees obviously. Some guys in here were all butthurt about his money comments while others think USC quarterbacks will all fail in the NFL. Just ridiculous internet talk.

Anyone would

Not me.
LOL. There isnt a team in the NFL who would take Purdy over Williams.

Purdy now or Purdy 262nd pick in 2022??

Purdy now, no doubt there are teams that would take Purdy over Caleb.

From what I've seen of Caleb Williams, its a hard pass for me.
Purdy now. Listen, I love Purdy but he isnt close to being the talent Williams is. But dont take my word for it. Check out the comments from a long term GM..

You still didn't answer my question??

And why am I gonna listen to a GM when 31 GM's got ot wrong 261 times??
I did answer your question. And... any guy who has been a GM for 17 years knows a LOT more than you do. LOL.

Tell me, do you think Purdy would be the 1st pick in next years NFL draft if he was coming out now? I just ask because I cant find ONE mock draft that doesnt have Williams going #1

Going back to this......As GM how many Super Bowls has he had the opportunity of putting together?? lol

How many picks has he got right, keep in my this is the same guy who would take Caleb Williams over one of the greatest QB's of all time in Peyton Manning. Oh and ask me why isn't he an NFL GM anymore?? By choice??

It's hilarious how you had to bring up "ex-NFL GM knows more than me". lol
