Penix and Williams were both solid in this game but the difference was USC's inability to stop the run at all. 316 yards on the ground! Crazy.

Again, talent and coaching or execution are different things. 49ers went from 2nd in run defense to 26th in run defense, are you gonna tell me it's a talent thing or a coaching thing??

And you're totally missing the point to this whole argument, your bias is carrying you away.

And you act like USC just played Hawaii at home, that was Michael Penix and #5 Washington schooling USC.
Washington is a very good team. BUT.. 572 yards and 52 points? LOL Same team that could only score 15 at home vs a bad Arizona St team.

I have no bias whatsoever. I simply call it as I see it which is...
1) Williams is damn good and will be the #1 pick in the draft in my opinion
2) USC's defense is PATHETIC and is the reason this team has lost 3 games. They may have a couple of players
who will play on Sundays but overall that D is HARDLY stacked.

Williams is a damn good QB, but he shows weakness and he's getting all emotional over a regular season game. lol

Crying in your mamas arms over a regular season game. That's straight up pathetic, never in my life have I seen a highly regarded prospect like Caleb Williams do that before.

Hard pass!!! I'd take Drake Maye ALL DAY over Williams no doubt!!!
Jumping into the stands and crying in mom's arms after a game? Painting his fingernails? Both probably means absolutely nothing but if he doesn't pan out you could look back and think "dang the signs were there"

For me I could careless about his finger nails. But crying for mama, wanting ownership of a team whoever drafts him and saying he could make more money if he stayed in college are huge red flags for me. He's demonstrating that he's all about himself and money. Sure players are about money in the NFL, but at least they wait to get there before talking about it.

I was right about Trey Lance and I have no doubt that I'm right about Caleb Williams.

He has one of the higher ceilings of all time (maybe the highest ever ) . I think some of these red flags suggest his floor may be much lower than the Lucks/ Mannings / Lawrence.

I don't see any red flags

I dont think that showing emotion after a tough loss is a huge red flag. Now, if he was ripping his defensive teammates for their pathetic performance THAT would be a red flag. I havent seen anything to suggest that he is a bad teammate however.

I think he will be a top 10 NFL QB. If he had been eligible in the last draft he certainly would have been picked ahead of Bryce Young or Stroud. Who knows if he will be better than them in the long run but if I needed a QB I wouldnt hesitate to run to the podium with his name on the card.

Williams couldnt be any more different than Trey Lance. He has actually played in huge games against great competition and is ready for the next level. I hated the Lance pick because of that and always wanted Justin Fields.

there's showing emotion, then there's crying, and saying you want to go home and cuddle with your dog, watch tv shows

Personally I think some people are making WAY too much out of it. It certainly isnt something which would keep you from drafting the kid if you like everything else about him.

No doubt some like me are making it a bigger issue than it probably is .

I do think him going off script (which he may be the best I've ever seen at doing so )may be a red flag . It's hard to believe he has that much talent on offense and the longest average clean pocket in who knows how long ...... and he isn't finding a way to stay on script more often .

its just ammo for people who already don't like him. literally no serious person cares about that.
one of my favorite posts from the past. LOL Kolohe.... do you remember who made this post earlier this year?

"Caleb Williams is gonna be a beast in the NFL. I'm gonna predict that Joe Alt will be a 49er in 2024. Jared Verse is definitely someone I'm gonna watch for next season. And I wish the 49ers could draft Marvin Harrison Jr.."

I will help you out. You said this and I pretty much laughed when you said that Alt could last to the 49ers. But I love the Williams comment.

What a poor attempt to make me look bad. Why, cause I said that Mahomes had less to work with in college?? Or was it cause I stated that USC has a stacked defense??

I've never once said Caleb Williams sucks or he can't do this or that or that he's not gonna be a 1st overall pick or 1st round pick.

What I do question is his attitude, it strikes me as a "It's all about me" attitude. The loss to Utah, he just sat on the bench feeling sorry for himself, instead of getting up and showing good sportsmanship. The loss to Washington, my god, talk about being a child, going to look for mommy and cry in her arms. Like Lavar Arrington said, "there's a time and a place to do that". For me, I'd talk s**t about any QB who did that after a REGULAR SEASON game. That was straight up embarrassing and couldn't it was true.

And you laughed about my Joe Alt comment, for one, I admit i didn't know where Alt was PROJECTED to go keyword there is PROJECTED. Two, why laugh, players fall in the draft all the time.....ALL THE TIME. Problem with most of you is that just cause someone is projected to go in the 1st round you people think it's set in stone. See Aaron Rodgers, see Will Levis, see Josh Rosen.

Lol. One post you say Williams will be a beast in the NFL and then you say you would take Purdy over him. With that logic I assume you think Purdy is a "beast"?

As for Alt I wasnt the only one to tell you there wasnt a chance that he would fall to the 49ers. In fact there were several. Studs like Alt dont fall to the 30s unless they suffer a bad injury. Tackles like him are way too valuable to get past the top 10.

And I said, Purdy now or Purdy as a 7th round pick or whatever. And no doubt I would take the present Purdy over Williams over a unknown 7th round pick, who wouldn't!!!

Wait so you're saying studs like Alt don't fall in the draft, my god do you really believe that. Please don't make me look up past prospects only for you to deflect it.

You really hurt by what I said about Caleb Williams, you keep going on and on about how I said this or that to try your best to make me look bad. Keep trying.

When you are doing your research find me offensive tackles that are projected to be top 10 picks by virtually everyone who fell to the 30s
