Caleb Williams QB USC Trojans

Its really not fair to label these guys as generational talent. If we are honest with ourselves we just don't quite know what generational talent is or if generational talent doesn't necessarily translate to NFL success.

Past "Generaltion Talents" off the top of my head:

Aaron Curry - bust
Calvin Johnson - legit
Andrew Luck - legit
Reggie Bush - didnt quite live up to expecations
J. Clowney - didnt quite live up to expecations
Trevor Lawrence - Still too early but may get the same label as above

Very mixed bag. Probably could add more to the list but hard to differentiate between a can't miss prospect and a generational talent

CALEB - he throws like Jeff George.. I hope he don't end up like him..
5 losses. LOL. The best player in the history of the world. Better than Mahomes.

LOL. Lets see who started this thread and compared him to Mahomes.

As for today, the stacked USC defense once again was special giving up 200 yards on the ground and getting totally outplayed by UCLA's offense. Williams wasnt super but he did throw for 384 yards while trying to keep from getting sacked most plays. He hasnt had the season he had last year but he is hardly the reason this team lost 5 games. Their stacked defense might be the worst in the schools history.

He's not living up to expectations was the point.

What were those expectations? Your comparison to Mahomes? Or the year he had last year. Because if those were your expectations then you are right.

I thought I went through this stacked defense thing with you already. I mean if it's just you continuing to mock me, whatever, but there's a reason the DC got fired and NOT multiple players being benched.

Williams was okay yesterday, he definitely didn't play like a #1 overall pick, his O-line was getting beat constantly and Williams was holding onto the ball longer than you like to see. People compare him to Mahomes, I'd say he's more Baker Mayfield, #1 overall pick Baker Mayfield that is (just in case you get all butthurt by the comparison).

I wouldn't pick anyone #1 who doesn't play. You want him holding out? Saying you aren't getting him enough talent? Getting all kinds of coaches fired? Tired of this me generation. You are on a team, win or lose. You s**t like everyone else, you put your pants on like everyone else.

Imagine if before a few games his WR core said nahh, f**k it. We are not playing the rest of the season and he had nobody to throw to... how would his stats look then? How would his draft stock drop? It's a team effort. Get your money, elevate others with your talent to help them get their money as well. Me guys are for the birds
I never thought I would say this but Bo Nix may be the most NFL ready QB. He really benefitted from the extra years he started. He was very up and down at Auburn. He's more polished now. He's not real big but hus accurate and can move well. His biggest downside is probably his age. He'll be 24 in Feb.

Williams has some special talents but he'll need to land with a team that has decent players and a coach that allows him to free lance similar to the way Reid allows Mahomes to do his thing.

Jayden Daniels looks incredible to me from LSU. He's what people want Caleb Williams to be. The athletic QB creating things. Except taller, bigger, faster with just as strong of an arm. I don't know how he will translate to the NFL. But he looks incredible in College. Not sure why he doesn't get more hype?

My guy is Drake Maye and I also do like Bo Nix. But I'll take this to another thread.
Not saying he's going to be a flop or anything but has there ever been a 6'1 generational qb before? It's kind of weird to see him so hyped when he doesn't have the prototypical qb build.

Just quickly glancing at one scouting report it sounds like he's a roided up version of Russell Wilson with a sprinkle of Mahomes and Josh Allen attributes

Jumping into the stands and crying in mom's arms after a game? Painting his fingernails? Both probably means absolutely nothing but if he doesn't pan out you could look back and think "dang the signs were there"

Add electing to not talk to the media after a loss to the list. As good as the kid is, there are some flags!!! Hopefully he'll get a good agency that will help him with this aspect of his public image.
why does he get the hype, meanwhile this LSU QB, is slaying
