They hope. Nobody knows for sure until the real action starts. A franchise QB needs to show he can be good year after year. Not just one or two seasons.
If you make it through season two without struggling you are usually in good shape. Another positive I saw out of Caleb Williams. I saw him scanning the whole field,
rather frequently. He seemed to learn USC Caleb was not going to cut it in the NFL.

The 2nd year is telling but making it through in good shape still doesn't make a franchise QB. That term is used a lot for any QB that starts for a couple years but I look at a franchise QB as a future HOF player. A player that you wouldn't trade as long as he's healthy. Just lasting even for 10 years and playing for maybe 2 or 3 different teams isn't enough.

We have a difference of opinion on what a franchise QB is. To me HOF is the constant top 5 if someone says name the 5 best QBs. Franchise are the top 5 plus guys that get in the top 10 conversation and most likely stay 10 years with one team or close to it.

Franchise QB is a made up phrase that has no real definition. For some fans it's any guy drafted in the 1st round. The only thing that matters is how well he plays. Franchise QB. System QB. QB for the ages. They all have to produce or they're done.

He looks good so far. But it's very early. He does have the knack for the spectacular play. Both College and pro so far.

Fields occasionally made spectacular plays with the Bears. The trick is to be consistent. I prefer a consistently average to good QB over an occasionally spectacular one that makes a lot of mistakes. not saying Williams will be like Fields. I think he's much better.

I have a friend that's a die hard Bears fan for some reason. He worries that Williams tries to make the spectacular play too often and misses the easy opportunities. That can be a problem with the athletically gifted QBs. That's why guys like Brady and Purdy can be successful. They concentrate on execution rather than trying to show off that big arm or how fast they are..

I would say Caleb Williams is a much more spectacular THROWER. Where Fields was a spectacular RUNNER. But never thrower where he really struggled with reads, progressions, decision making, timing, accuracy. Especially off schedule Williams can be phenomenal. Can he do it consistently enough on schedule to be really great long term? I don't think we know yet. But as a prospect coming out I would put Caleb Williams abilities much higher than Fields. Who was always a bit over rated.

Pink fingernails, fingernail extensions, pink phone, pink lip gloss. Cries to his mommy in the stands. Huge, huge bust potential here. I don't think he has the mental toughness.

5 losses. Crying to mommy on the USC leap in the stands. He's having a disappointing year. Their defense has athletes. Just not great results.

He seems like a diva and a cry baby. Super entitled too. Just lots of bad signs there. I'd be careful picking this very high.

I'm not sure that he is THIS YEAR. 5 losses on a stacked team. As talented as anybody in College Football on the roster.

Lmao

That last post is so stupid lmao. They are all very stupid obviously, last one stands out since you are obviously completely clueless about CF, just like the NFL.

Obviously SD didnt watch USC football and didnt have a clue. In reality though, all he did was repeat the same posts that Kolohe was making. Both were more concerned about his nail polish and showing emotion after a loss than how he actually looked on the field

Yeah I watched USC a lot. Even go to some games here in southern CA. I know what he can do. Yeah he is a big head case. Which could come into play. No doubt he has enormous physical ability. Phenomenal off schedule plays. Both in College and the pros.

I was more concerned with the red flags he was putting out there, I don't even remember talking s**t about his nail polish if I ever did. But what concerns I had about him was the two about him wanting ownership and crying to mommy in the stands, seriously who the f**k does that!!! I've never flipped flopped about his play on the field, then again he did turn the ball over a lot this past season.

Lemme guess USC alumni?

There were some red flags. They still remain. It's yet to be seen what he is. It's very early. Everyone knows he has outstanding physical talent. It's just the head and can he keep that together or not. Over the long term. We don't know yet.
