Know it's early, but it's always good to have a plan. Niners are set at QB, RB, LB, and ST IMO. That leaves a bunch of areas that could be addressed in the upcoming draft. The DL can use a run stuffer to go with all of their one gap penetrators. Bosa would be more effective if he had a book end DE to generate some pressure. With three pending free agents at CB, that could be a problem. At this point, the OL needs the most help with Burford and McKivitz having some early season struggles. What do you think?

I put edge because the DL is always the 49ers highest priority.

OT we need to get an upgrade at RT and prepare for TW retiring.

Upgrade at swing T at least, slot/safety, CB, backup C/G, WR, DE and NT. The salary cap plans are probably going to drive "need" a bit more and more as we approach Purdy's 2nd contract

That's true, we'll need someone to replace TW at RT.

Tackle is the obvious one, I would also love to draft a young stud center.

Tackle. Father time is undefeated and Trent is going to be over 36 next year. They like picking tackles high for talent. I dont see this regime choosing a CB early, at all.

Only regime in NFL to not take a DB in the first 2 rounds of any draft since they took over. That's a damn near stone cold lock.

One area I did not have originally on the list is TE. Someone with a huge deal will have to go at some point and the two most logical choices IMO are either Kittle or Deebo. Latu is definitely not the future unless he makes significant strides on his game while he's injured. What do you think about our TE situation?

Doesnt matter. This regime will draft a defensive lineman.

We really don't know regarding Latu, thanks to his injury. Can't see us spending a high pick on TE though. As the thread is headed "highest priority" I am going for OT. It takes a year to two to really develop a top tackle and that would bring us towards TW's possible retirement.

OT seems to be the obvious choice for the reasons already mentioned. The problem is, that the best ones go very early, and we will likely be drafting at the tail end of round one.
I just did a quick check of the top 25 OTs and their draft round, according to the latest PFF rankings:
Rd #1 - 10
Rd #2 - 5
Rd #3 - 3
Rd #4 - 1
There is the infrequent unicorn like Jordan Mailata but the odds of drafting a top OT are not good. Maybe there is a Larry Allen out there playing for a Sonoma State but that train already left.
Maybe all that cap space will bring an OT in free agency but looking at 2024 OT FAs is not very exciting.
Draft a small college prospect and coach him up.
