Luke McCaffrey-WR-Rice

As the article on the front page says, Luke is Christian's little brother, started out as a QB but has transitioned to WR. Similar top end athlete that is still progressing as a wide receiver but has the potential to be a very good special teams contributor while he improves his WR skillset. Offers a lot of versatility and is outstanding with the ball in his hands.

WR and an emergency QB in one

Lol came here to start a thread but mine would've been way worse.
Luke Mccafrey + Frank Gore Jr + OL + CB

49er bias.

Hell yeah I would absolutely love it!!!!

I always wondered WTF happen to Luke McCaffery, I kept waiting for him to start for Michigan. Come to find out he's not even at Michigan anymore.

Edit......Dammit I'm thinking of Dylan McCaffery. Holy s**t how many brothers do they have!!!!

I know we all want to see what guys from football families can do in the NFL.

Don't hate me for this, but I don't think Luke is going to be great in the pros. He just doesn't separate well enough. He is not an athletic mismatch either. He is not CMC.

A solid college player, but man.. even against the level of competition at Rice, it hasn't been all that great overall, and I unfortunately just don't see much that translates to being a great pro NFL player based on what I saw earlier this year when I was scouting him. He might have a Jauan Jennings type of trajectory though, and there's nothing wrong with that.

He looks OK. Not as fast and explosive as his brother. Late round and backup and I'm OK with it. Nothing wrong with him. Just not as athletically gifted as his brother.

I mean it's not like we would be using a day 1 or even day 2 picks on him, but on day 3? This is exactly the type of guys you draft in the late rounds

Totally cool with him if it's in the later rounds. Definitely could see him being a nice replacement to JJ. Just probably not a future 1/2 IMO.

Bamicably the role I am seeing for both him and Brenden Rice. That 3rd receiver spot is going to open up in 2025 and I'd like as much competition as possible. McCaffrey, Rice, and even Bell would be a good looking group. Very diverse skillsets and long term cost control.

I agree with all 3 of you.

I don't think he's going to be a top type WR either but in the later rounds I'd rather him over Bell and/or Gray.

He's only been playing WR for a hot minute. so I definitely wouldn't mind giving him a shot over Bell/Gray

Yup I'd take him over Bell and Gray. If he's there in the 5th or 6th round I'd definitely take him!!!!
ok....wow.....

have seen many/many/many RBs/WRs throw the ball on fakes....this dude throws a pretty ball....or at least he did for at least that one highlight above.
