Luke McCaffrey-WR-Rice

Dude is tough as s**t just like his brother. Some of these catches in traffic are impressive for a former QB. He's also got crazy good hands for someone that hasn't been playing WR that long. His releases/routes kind of suck, but that's expected given he's only been a WR for a few years. Not too worried given his bloodline. I know he'll commit to the craft. I like that he has an understanding of coverages being a former QB. That's going to be an advantage when he gets to the NFL and can immediately identify whether it's zone/man/combo and where the weaknesses to attack are. Lastly and most important: he blocks.

It's a natural progression to go from one ex-QB big slot in Jauan to another. I'm in.

He looked like a better prospect than Legette honestly. It still absolutely blows my mind he was still available where he was. Then again, Kittle fell too and I thought there was no way he made it past pick 75.

From all accounts, McCaffery is going to be available late too.....

To me RAS is worth while. since it is basically the "work out warrior" numbers. It should just backup what you think you already know.

in the case of LMC, I dont know how many people are like ooooooooohhhhhhh look at that RAS..... They are probably more like, this tough SOB could catch a fly with chopsticks....oh and he happens to measure like a legit NFL WR.

I think this dude gets the big picture. like next coming of Chris Carter savvy.

Early on before Chris Carter became one of the best WRs in the game, he had a season that was something like 55 targets 45 catches 10 TDs...or something like that...Chris Berman gave him the tag line that all he does is catch Touch Downs. Dude knew were the ball was and played the ball, If that means he broke off his rout...so be it....dude found space and caught the ball.

I think LMC has that in him. I suspect most fans would be hard pressed to find a prospect that is significantly better at tracking the ball, that has the hand eye coordination/body control that LMC has.

I honestly believe the 49ers need an elite rout runner, I said it a million times in the Deebo thread...Brock Purdy need a dude that will be where he is suppose to be, when he is suppose to be there. Brock's mid game is elite, he needs a dude that can make his quick game better. So if I was the 49ers I would prioritize a dude with a large catch radius that can work in traffic, that also happens to be an elite rout runner. So when Brock throws the short yardage back shoulder throws ( I am sure he is trying to turn the WR to save him from a hit) a large catch radius will help him get mitts on the ball.

I don't think LMC is that, at least not yet....

I would still draft the dude though, I think he a fantastic prospect with tons of upside.

sadly if we dont get the dude, I think we all know he is going to be the next Ram WR that comes out of the middle or no where to shock the NFL.

RAS is just an other tool. I don't use it as something meaningful. That's tweet is a thread with some clips.

Exactly my thoughts earlier in this thread, I think Luke can be a lot like Jauan

But if he's gonna be a WR in Shanahan's offense then he has to block. How he is as a blocker?
