If there's a OT we value & it's within striking distance…move up.

Not a fan of Guyton from these practices. He's a grabber, had bad hands, and doesn't anchor consistently.

I know fans aren't going to want to hear this, but a tackle with our first pick is probably not the way to go.

He shows flashes of independent hands and upper body twitch. You can teach accuracy and timing. His feet are so light and it's those movement skills you can't teach. His natural strength is also evident. He's new to the position, and I think it'd be worth the gamble, personally. That said, I think he's a top 20 pick anyway. My guess would be OT4

Yeah, Guyton is still a bit of a project but oozing with potential. Some said might be a boom/bust type and I'm sure our front office will do their due diligence if he is one of those guys who loves to play ball and has that drive to get better at his craft. The team is in a winning mode now and we need players that can contribute right away with the first pick. So I'm good with a stud Center that can play a Guard for a year if need to. Then get an OT after to develop. Let's see how all these players do the rest of this week.
No doubt. But that's kind of my point. If we're drafting an offensive lineman in the first, we need someone to play immediately. We have to win this year or next with this core group.

A project tackle is not the route we should go in the draft IMO.

Disagree. Lot of good tackles will be around, I don't se a whole lotta difference between #4 and #10.

Use the draft picks to build the depth of this team. Gonna need cheap depth when they pay Brock.

I agree with you. We haven't had a first or 2nd in 2 years so we need all of our picks to restock. We'll be losing quality depth and fringe starters to free agency bc they will get bigger contracts elsewhere. Need to get about 4 players this draft that fill those roles and the more chances we got (picks) the more likely we'll hit on some.

There are about 12 tackles that may go in the first round. That doesn't mean they're a good fit for the system Kyle uses. If there is one then it may be worth moving up if someone is willing to trade back. Maybe a CB would be a better choice and then move up in the 2nd round to grab a tackle that they like. It might be easier to move up in the 2nd with all the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounders they have. Maybe a 3rd and 4th would get an extra 2nd. Or a 3rd plus their own 2nd to move up. Lot's of possibilities if they can find a trade partner.

Tariq Ahmad. He's probably in line to replace Adam Peters, but most likely it won't be announced until after the draft.

Disagree that 12 will go. 8 maybe 9 tops. Too much talent at the other positions.
Bro

Javon Foster must be picked by John Lynch as Trent Williams' successor or at least an upgrade for Colton McKivitz. This guy would open lanes for CMC and protect Purdy's back for many seasons

Nothing wrong with Colton. Especially considering his cap hit…

Colton McKivitz has an acceptable dead money hit with $584K while 49ers can save $3.057M into salary cap space...
