I was going to say that I'd be pissed if I was Tony's source. Someone from the Niners organization is going to be in trouble.

If you mean he's more of a natural zone than man, then that does seem right--although I only watched two games. But the dude definitely plays at his listed 6-1, 221 lbs size. He was trucking people, running through contact, and throwing DBs to the turf.
Seems to be pretty damn good out of the backfield as a receiver.
I saw a 49er beat writer compare him to Mostert the second he posted the 4.3 40. I'm not saying Hoov did this, but a lot of people definitely see any fast guy and say MOSTERT!
That said, he's a good prospect. Perfectly fine as a pass catcher out of the back field (not to be confused as a RB who can effectively line up as a wide receiver) and he definitely uses his size. I think the natural and obvious comp is Isiah Pacheco who for whatever reason was drafted in the 7th round.

We do need someone we can depend on to share some RB snaps and fill out that position.
Many people have thought Guerendo was someone we might want. No one wants to see another 3rd rnd failure.
I'm sure he'd be in the mix at that pick. I hope it's more like Kittle who they had a 3rd rnd grade on but picked in the 5rh. Maybe, we'd look at taking him with one of the 4th end picks we have.

Yup, I was going to bring up Pacheco. That was the first player that came to mind while watching Guerendo.
Didn't take long to see a lot of this. He runs hard. Contact initiated at the 31 but ends the run at the 38. I can see why he's on the Niners' radar. Dude doesn't waste time pressing the running lane and gets busy. I like this dude.
he bodied this DB

Yeah, I think barrows was the one who mocked him to the niners as that zone speed guy they've been missing since mostert, might have been where I got stuck on mostert lol But I do think that is what I think they are trying bring back and something he excels in.

I think Mitchell is going to be hard to resign next summer. Would love to flip him during the draft for a pick to grab Guerendo. Masons ready to step up.

.@UCLAFootball RB @CarsonSteele30 rushed for 847 yards + 6 TDs 2023. Teams see a versatile chess piece that can play RB, FB or "move" TE.

I just couldn't get excited about the tape. Needs to gain weight. The hands are not there. Maybe a UDFA you bring in and just see like we did with Colletto last year. I don't want to spend on Juice but he is so damn hard to replace.

E. Mitchell, Mason, and the newly signed Patrick Taylor will be free agents next season so I would not be surprised if we draft another RB this year. Mitchell had 1 good year but he always seems to be injured and IMO, we can't rely on him. As they say, your best ability is your availability.
If we do draft a RB, I hope it's in the 4th round or later. The later the better. One RB who I have this strange feeling we'll draft is Guerendo. His measurables are great according to the RAS score (if you buy into that).
Isaac Guerendo is a RB prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored a 9.97 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 7 out of 1804 RB from 1987 to 2024.https://t.co/awjXiOBIw9 pic.twitter.com/RyITcWL4IJ

Going to throw another name out there. Tyrone Tracy Jr. Played RB in high school, converted to WR at Iowa, converted back to RB at Purdue. Accomplished kick of returner. Ran the 5th fastest 3 cone and 7th fastest shuttle regardless of position at the combine. 6th fastest 10 yard split among RBs. Elite short area quickness. Admittedly, probably a better fit as a 3rd down back on a team with a power running game, but still has an intriguing skill set.

If Tracy falls to day 3, he's an interesting option as an Offensive Weapon (former WR).
He had limited targets over the last two seasons, 25 and 38, but he had over a 70+% catch rate.
Wondering if Shanahan could run him in some of the Deebo/CMC Wide Back concepts.

Dylan Laube, NH. Poor man's CMC.
Isaac Guerendo, Louisville another Poor man's CMC and perfect compliment to Mason/Mitchell not quite the route running as the other two or CMC but has some juice and could be a full time fill in.
Jawhar Jordan, Louisville. Reminds me of Mitchell but with more speed.
Just watched him and I think he would drive Kyle insane. There were so many plays I saw where instead of hitting the hole and getting the first down, he bounced outside and lost yardage. So frustrating to watch. He's got nice power and runs hard, but his decision making drove me nuts. Laube though, love him. One of my favorite players in this class.
Reports in OTA's say IG has been indecisive.. Of course, that's what we knew we were getting. Gonna have to hope that can be coached out of him.
