You read my mind, brother. I included him in my mock back in November. I'll be BEGGING the team to draft him when the time comes. He's a perfect fit for us. LOVE Sainristil. I don't know if he'll be available where I had him going before.

4. Mike Sainristil-CB-Michigan, 5-9 182 4.39
Michigan leads the nation in pass defense, and it's not all about pass rush (they rank 44th in the nation there). That tells me the secondary is doing a fine job and Mike is a big part of that. I imagine Peters would vouch for Mike to be a pick here as we desperately need help filling the gaping hole at nickel. Sainristil has 3 interceptions (2 returned for touchdowns), 3 TFL, and 1 sack.

I don't study prospects anymore, so this tidbit is really for you guys doing the deep dive--with how important DBs are in today's run game fits, the focus on DB run defense doesn't seem to be getting the necessary attention by talent evaluators. Honestly, it should be the first thing you guys focus on when evaluating DBs. One thing I learned from Bill Belichick's philosophy years back on evaluating DBs was the importance of physicality and tackling as a DB. He said something along the lines of him preferring a coachable DB that could tackle and play physical over a pure coverage/athletic DB that can't tackle. This has been highlighted this week with KC's defense: they have arguably the best tackling backfield in the NFL. DBs that can't tackle, fit gaps and play physical are massive liabilities in 2024 with the way teams are defending these high-flying offense.

I think quinyon mitchell and terrion Arnold are quite easily the top 2 corners in the draft this year.

I prioritize above all else: smooth hips, quick feet, patience in coverage, aggressiveness in run fills. Give me Max Melton

I like Kalen King a lot. I feel like he checks all the boxes, honestly. Already mentioned Sainristil as a slot guy, but another potential inside/outside CB I like is Deantre Prince from Mississippi.

@Heroism, if you're looking for a tackle guy over coverage guy, you might like Jahdae Barron a lot.
Also, here's a small school guy to watch: Willie Drew of Virginia St. -- Division II, CIAA Defensive Player of the Year. Great athlete obviously. Could be a riser.

TJ Tampa. 6'2", 200 pound CB from Brock Purdy State that loves to thump people. I could see him being an even better FS than CB in the NFL but he has the talent and athleticism for either spot.

Watched some cut-ups about a week or so back. Not a fan of him at CB, but S I could certainly go with. Agree definitely with that idea.

How about a mid round run blitzing S

Another guy from Wake Forest I like is CB Caelen Carson. He's really good in coverage.. I just wish he would stop being so handsy. Dude is physical af, but he's gonna get flagged a lot in the NFL if he doesn't learn to cool it with that stuff.

Mustafa is impressive, a bit underrated probably. I like him as a developmental depth guy who can immediately contribute on STs.

I was thinking we would prioritize an outside corner first since Lenoir is better inside but his contract ends next year and if he may command a nice chunk of money if he stacks another good year in 2024. I guess i still would go outside first. thoughts?

Playmaker and return specialist. Hope he falls to us in the end of round 1

What I'm really hoping for is Kingsley Suamataia in the 1st round, then hopefully Cam Hart CB from Notre Dame or Javon Bullard S/CB from Georgia in the 2nd round.
