2024 Draft Class: DB

TJ Tampa has been the guy I've really liked but he's slotted for early-mid second although with a stellar combine he could certainly move up.

We have 11 picks. I don't expect us to use them all I anticipate us using them to trade up and finish the draft with 6-8 draft picks.

Playmaker and return specialist. Hope he falls to us in the end of round 1

Holy ****, that return at 2:40 was sick

There's alot to like I want him to play nickle real bad for us. An OL would be nice but rookies take time and I don't want bone head mistakes like Burford in OT 3 and 4. I really like the over the shoulder INTS, his ball skills are incredible.

I don't want him in the 1st….Also I wouldn't spend a 1st with the thought of him playing primarily as our nickel.

I'm not spending a 1st on a DB that has so little film playing man as well. IMO I would say he's got a better chance at being successful as a safety than as a lockdown DB long-term.

We'll see about the combine. I think he makes it to the 2nd. There's some good options this year IMO so we don't need to panic or reach for anyone.

He's a day 2 guy, not sure he's a top 64 pick.

Tykee Smith from Georgia has some valuable versatility the combine will be huge for him.

I like Tykee Smith or Mike Sainristil as future 49er NCBs

Bullard out of Georgia as well but he will likely go in RD 2

Well we ain't getting him anyway cause he'll be gone way before we pick. I agree that he might be a better Safety long term but he's more than fine as a CB as well. I'm kinda surprised that you insinuating he's not worth a first or ours at least, kid is a beast and got future pro bowls and all pros written all over him

Like all 3 you guys mention. How do you guys feel about kool-aid? I'm not drinking the kool-aid, especially with our first, I don't see it with him

Hey maybe I'm wrong…not sure what makes him a beast or what he's legit great at? I don't really care that much about return ability.

he's doesn't come off as super twitchy to me. He never plays man and IMO that's kinda risky to spend a top 32 pick on. I want my 1st rd DB to be able to play some lockdown man coverage.

I agree and don't think he's worth the trade up it would require to get him. And If he fell to 31 and no OTs were available I'd look to trade down with a team that wants him. He has pretty solid technique but I think he's gonna get flagged in the league quite a bit not many receivers in college have attended the Lebron school of flopping.

Kid locates the ball in the air so quickly. My favorite part about his game. And a very underrated quality for DBs to have.

What makes him a beast for me is the cliche they all love, kid is a football player. Maybe not "great" at anything but good at everything. Can and willing to tackle. Visible on film that he's a student of the game. You don't care about return abilities but they do and it's another tool in his toolbox, we haven't been good there for years. Disagree on the twitch, he wouldn't be playing CB AND returning punts if he was some stiff. He's got plenty of athleticism and will show it this week. Whether he plays man or not isn't up to him, you play what you are told too, I think he can do it but yeah maybe not at that "lockdown" level, not many can nor do.

Your description sounds a little like a description for Hufanga. Nothing stands out ab out Huff but he plays hard and seems to always be around the ball even though he doesn't have great speed.

I like that he attacks when tackling and doesn't wait for the ball carrier to come to him.

That whole Huff lack of speed thing needs to be put to rest. Game speed > underwear Olympic speed

But yes DeJean is faster and more athletic, think he runs in the 4.4's this week, maybe even crack the 4.3's
