Why am I suddenly getting this weird feeling that the 49ers may do something shocking with their first pick, like.. if the OT they want isn't there.. they pick Ja'Tavion Sanders or something.

49ers sent director of college scouting to Arizona's pro day. I'm sure Jordan Morgan has something to do with that, but also got a look at Tanner Mclachlan.

I don't really want a TE until mid to late rounds, so that said, my favorites would probably be:

Ben Sinnott, Brevyn Spann-Ford, Tanner McLachlan, Erick All, Tip Reiman, and Mason Pline. I do like Jaheim Bell or Braden Brose too as h-back types.

Dude was horrible. Vance Mcdonald hands and kept whiffing as a blocker. If they're not confident in him going forward then another TE could be on the list.

I definitely thought that was a joke. What I'm hoping is that there is no way that Latu comes back being that bad. He was definitely overdrafted, but had a 5th round grade if I'm not mistaken, which is still solid backup territory. I'd look at a TE no earlier than 6th. Now if someone falls, sure. But it's just not high up on the list.
Scott McCloughan had Latu with a 2nd rd grade. Only played one yr at TE at Alabama converting from DE so I still have faith in his development especially since I don't ever remember Charlie Woerner catching one pass his whole career so development at blocking is the main focus. McCloughan built a physical Niner squad and loved his Delanie Walker and Dashon Goldson pick for later rds, I wouldn't mind rehiring him as a draft consultant bc he hit solid players in his 1rst rds.
