2024 Draft Class: TE/FB

I don't really want a TE until mid to late rounds, so that said, my favorites would probably be:

Ben Sinnott, Brevyn Spann-Ford, Tanner McLachlan, Erick All, Tip Reiman, and Mason Pline. I do like Jaheim Bell or Braden Brose too as h-back types.

I'd like Jaheim Bell to replace Juice, but see his skillset similar to Delanie Walker who was one of my faves

Dude was horrible. Vance Mcdonald hands and kept whiffing as a blocker. If they're not confident in him going forward then another TE could be on the list.

Maybe if I put it in italics you would know I wasn't serious 😂

I definitely thought that was a joke. What I'm hoping is that there is no way that Latu comes back being that bad. He was definitely overdrafted, but had a 5th round grade if I'm not mistaken, which is still solid backup territory. I'd look at a TE no earlier than 6th. Now if someone falls, sure. But it's just not high up on the list.
Scott McCloughan had Latu with a 2nd rd grade. Only played one yr at TE at Alabama converting from DE so I still have faith in his development especially since I don't ever remember Charlie Woerner catching one pass his whole career so development at blocking is the main focus. McCloughan built a physical Niner squad and loved his Delanie Walker and Dashon Goldson pick for later rds, I wouldn't mind rehiring him as a draft consultant bc he hit solid players in his 1rst rds.

Obviously everybody has different grades, but consensus was that he was a 5th rounder.

Wish the Rams would have drafted Latu instead of Puka...
I'm a UA homer but McLachlan give me baby-Kittle/baby-Gronk vibes. Want.

Late day 3 guy imo. Massively overdrafted. Really no way around it. Hopefully he comes back healthy and proves everyone wrong.

Yeah....true that...every catch he made that last year at Bama was perfect....I get why someone would think he had ok hands....low volume, but no mistakes either.....

I think this is just one more example why low volume sucks....
Thoughts on drafting Johnny Wilson as a TE?

In terms of his NFL projection, there's no doubt that Wilson offers a rare package. He's not just a one-trick pony; he can be deployed in the slot, on the boundary, or even entertain a move to tight end. His blocking prowess also adds another dimension to his game, hinting at his potential as a hybrid offensive weapon.

Possibly. Maybe a Darren Waller type. Though that includes a bit of the drop tendencies. For the right value, I'm all for it.

Please don't draft Wilson and convert him to TE, just draft Eric All from Iowa and call it a day.
I'd love to see the 49ers get Sinnott but I think he's going to go too early for them. He's fantastic with YAC and breaking tackles, also a willing and effective blocker. If they're serious about acquiring a true #2 and a possible replacement for Kittle or Juice down the road, this would be a good investment.

Sinnot is who I've had a draft crush on lately. Have to fix the offense and prepare for the future to replace a few people. They said they wanted to build around Purdy. It seems like they favor wr 1st now likely McConkey to replace Deebo at some point. Then the tackle we need on Fosengarden to replace Williams one day.
I really want to see the number 2 TE that could eventually replace Kittle.

Sinnot was a willing blocker and a good wr. He is quick with decent speed.
The knock was his size and shorter arms. They said he couldn't hold up on the line as well. He did well at the senior bowl and Combine.
I've seen him anywhere from start of 2nd to mid 4th.. I'm not sure where he will actually go. I'm guessing too of 3rd. Like to see us trade up in 3rd. Wish we had the the 3rd still we waisted on Young.

I am with you on this. I hope SF drafts him on Friday night.
