2024 Draft Class: DE

Nah that was before he tested at the combine. He didn't get the sacks but he caused a lot of disruption and pressure. IMO would be a nice fit next to Bosa as the speed threat we been searching for since Dee Ford. That said, I wouldn't take him cause we already used resources on Yetur and Floyd. But yeah we differ on opinion here.

This is such a bad EDGE class that he's been pushed up imo. EDGE always gonna get priority based on it being a premium position. Hopefully someone ahead of us takes him.

Ford atleast produced his last season at Auburn. IMO I think he can be a 3rd pass rush specialist, W9 guy…my comp was a shorter armed Bruce Irvin. I don't know, if that's the ceiling I don't want that as a top 31 player. Too each their own.

Maybe that is part of the reason they hit the position hard and heavy in free agency.
I'm always wary of guys that jump way up in the draft based on combine or pro day results. Unless they were injured a lot in college, where was this talent during games? I put production on the field above any drills at the combine.

Completely agree with everything you said. I did say I wouldn't take him lol. Only thing I disagreed with you about was that he was a first round prospect before he tested.
Niners did plenty in the offseason to solidify the edge position, but they could use one more designated pass rusher to rotate with Floyd. I'm thinking about guys like Jaylen Harrell (Michigan), Brennan Jackson (Wash St.), Zion Tupuola-Fetui (Washington) or anyone that falls to late day 3.

Right he's a 1st rd round prospect based off how important the position is and how bad the draft class is overall. Talent wise he's not a 1st rd prospect for me

Agreed again! See, we can hold hands and skip once in awhile
Came across a guy name Bo Richter out of Air Force on the timeline this morning. I only watched VERY quick highlights of him where he was playing on the ball, but not sure if that was his primary position, or if they also lined him up as an off ball LB. He's a smaller guy, even by 34 OLB standards: 6'1" 248 lbs with sub 31" arms. But man, he looks pretty intriguing as a late round, potentially undrafted, rotational pass rush specialist.

Vs a lower level of competition no doubt, but he lined up both outside and over guard. His first step was simply too much to handle. He mostly won with quickness, both in explosiveness and speed. Guards simply stood no chance as he got skinny through gaps before they had a chance to react and get hands on. Vs tackles, he wins with a 2-way go, going both inside or outside the tackle. Again, quickness and motor are his best assets, but he uses his hands. A lot of 2 hand swipes and an effective push-pull where he gets hands on inside the pads, extends, and then sheds. Chase down speed in backside pursuit was tremendous. Did not see a ton of bend. Maybe he's a bendy guy, but that's not how he was winning.

Pro-day testing confirms the eye test:
Bench: 24
Vert: 40
Broad: 1004
40: 4.56
10: 1.56

Not seeing any agilities, but basically a clearance rack Gabriel Murphy. Worth a throw at the dart board imo as every team chases the next Micah Parsons.

Edit: looks like he pulled up with a hammy during his first 40; still a great time. That's why no agilities. He looks pretty rocked up, not sure there's much more room to add size.

Those are insane numbers. Obviously an undersized and lightweight edge, but even compared to LBs, these are very good. Melvin Ingram, Bruce Irvin, TJ Watt, Von Miller type profile. Assuming the speed is there. Thought this was more of a high motor, high IQ type. But if those numbers are right, he might be more then just a situational pass rusher. Could be a legit 3-4 OLB. Bound to shoot up some boards.

This is a bad class for defense period honestly. Which means there's going to be some unexpected defensive studs that will have people scratching their heads later.

If it wasn't for the injury history there's a good chance he would be the top defensive player in the draft, guy is explosive.
I would just pass on all edge rushers in this draft until the 6th round
