Came across a guy name Bo Richter out of Air Force on the timeline this morning. I only watched VERY quick highlights of him where he was playing on the ball, but not sure if that was his primary position, or if they also lined him up as an off ball LB. He's a smaller guy, even by 34 OLB standards: 6'1" 248 lbs with sub 31" arms. But man, he looks pretty intriguing as a late round, potentially undrafted, rotational pass rush specialist.
Vs a lower level of competition no doubt, but he lined up both outside and over guard. His first step was simply too much to handle. He mostly won with quickness, both in explosiveness and speed. Guards simply stood no chance as he got skinny through gaps before they had a chance to react and get hands on. Vs tackles, he wins with a 2-way go, going both inside or outside the tackle. Again, quickness and motor are his best assets, but he uses his hands. A lot of 2 hand swipes and an effective push-pull where he gets hands on inside the pads, extends, and then sheds. Chase down speed in backside pursuit was tremendous. Did not see a ton of bend. Maybe he's a bendy guy, but that's not how he was winning.
Pro-day testing confirms the eye test:
Bench: 24
Vert: 40
Broad: 1004
40: 4.56
10: 1.56
Not seeing any agilities, but basically a clearance rack Gabriel Murphy. Worth a throw at the dart board imo as every team chases the next Micah Parsons.
Edit: looks like he pulled up with a hammy during his first 40; still a great time. That's why no agilities. He looks pretty rocked up, not sure there's much more room to add size.
