I've always thought he'd be a 2nd rounder. Guessing mid 2nd round. He's a good fit for a lot of offenses, especially if they are running a Shanahan-type scheme. Instant starter at RG as a rookie and potentially a future starter at C.

If he does in fact project as a C at some point, would be good not going OT in the 1st and grabbing him in the 2nd.

Nasty highlights but if he's so good why isn't he playing LT or LG at least which is usually reserved for the best lineman on the squad?

Hes undersized for tackle. UCONN has a 6'6 and 6'7 tackle starting. Haynes is 6'3 with sub 34 inch arms. Physically much better suited to playing inside, and thats where he has shined.

LG or RG is just sort of up to coaching and player preference. Zack Martin is a generational talent and plays RG. Chris Lindstrom is an exceptional guard and routinely ranks in the top 5 by analysts and PFF and he plays RG. Could just be what Haynes played in high school and just works for him.

I think ultimately Haynes's future in the NFL is going to be at center. He has the movement skills, the awareness, football IQ and more than sufficient power to play at that spot.
