Hes undersized for tackle. UCONN has a 6'6 and 6'7 tackle starting. Haynes is 6'3 with sub 34 inch arms. Physically much better suited to playing inside, and thats where he has shined.
LG or RG is just sort of up to coaching and player preference. Zack Martin is a generational talent and plays RG. Chris Lindstrom is an exceptional guard and routinely ranks in the top 5 by analysts and PFF and he plays RG. Could just be what Haynes played in high school and just works for him.
