2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

With 1 week of CFB already wrapped up and in the books, it's time to start the 2025 thread. Post anything and everything from live reactions to CFB games, prospects to watch, players that are catching your eye, etc.

Class looks loaded on defense. Safety and especially DT look tremendous, CB at the very least is extremely talented at the top, and there are a few speedy pass rushers to catch interest.

My first official mock draft of the cycle (with alternates):
FA: Spencer Brown, RT
1 Shavon Revel, CB | ECU
2 Josh Connerly, OT | Oregon
3 Dontay Corleone, DT | Cincinnati
3 Jake Slaughter, OC | Florida (Jonah Monheim, OC)
4 Marcus Mbow, LG | Purdue
5 Jasheen Davis, EDGE | Wake Forest
6 Harold Fannin Jr, TE | Bowling Green
7 Derrick Canteen, CB | Cincinnati

1 Dani Dennis-Sutton EDGE Penn State
2 Josh Conerly Jr. OT Oregon
3 Dontay Corleone DT Cincinnati (tradeup)
4 Domani Jackson CB Alabama
4 Harold Fannin Jr.TE Bowling Green
5 Joshua Gray OG Oregon State
6 Tyreem Powell LB Rutgers
7 Jager Burton C/OG Kentucky

Lots of similarities
Darn, Spencer Brown got extended. Will be keeping an even closer eye on tackles now. We thinking Aireontae Ersery is a top 20 pick?

I'm hoping for Marcus Mbow from Purdue in the late first. Really athletic prospect who can play multiple positions on the offensive line. Perfect fit for the Niners system.

Dont say things like late first. It's too early for my mock drafts - that have him being drafted to play guard for us in the 4th round - to not be fun.
Great QB class

I'd rank it as:

ewers, Texas
sanders, Colorado
Beck, Georgia
ward, Miami
Dart, ole miss

Wasnt able to catch the game this morning - how did Ewers look? Michigan won't be ranked top 15 for long, but they still have a stacked defense.
That Harold Fannin Jr stat line tho...

Riley Leonard doesn't look too bad either.
Sanders is not a 1st round QB.

Barring a horrible season or injury he probably is.

I mean anymore, if not always, these guys get drafted high based on media hype almost as much as anything else.

I was not all that impressed though. Granted it was a tough game to make a determination since he had little to no time. And I didn't watch much of it. But I saw him roll out, evade pressure and throw fluttering passes downfield that were caught by his receivers.

I grew tired of all the hype very quickly last year. Sure, Deion was a great player and wish we would have had him more than one year. It's also clear once you recognize the type that he's a narcissist.

And great players a lot of times don't make great or even good coaches. He did very well at Jackson State because he's Deion and kids like Travis Hunter who was like the top overall prospect in his class thought it would be cool to play for Coach Prime. Out recruit everyone at that level or in that conference and you'll probably win your conference. Taking a step up to a Power 5 FBS conference and having to make up for years of shoddy recruiting and facing teams that also get top level recruits, that is the test of a good coach.

And with that offensive line he's going to get his son practically murdered.

Nothing all that remarkable about his game. This isnt Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech throwing for 400 yards and 5 TDs losing 45-40 because the defense is terrible. Colorado is getting blown out and he isn't doing much on offense to help. He will probably finish his career at D1 with a way below .500 record with 100+ sacks. Add on you will be dealing with Deion, who apparently wants his guys to go to specific teams and i think teams are going to pass.

If sanders isn't a 1st round qb, he will be a steal.

no he isn't Mahomes. But his arm talent is incredible. He has extremely quick throwing motion, able to move exit point, throw in the run, keep eyes downfield etc.

biggest concern is all the hits he's taking, and his attitude. IMO he needs to land at a place he doesn't start, with a strong veteran presence. So a late 1st rounder is probably ideal

he probably solidified #1 qb status. Moved sanely well in pocket, made throws under pressure while being completely relaxed. I think you could argue he's a better prospect than Williams due to his mental capabilities
