Zion Childress declared for the draft, will be interesting to see how he tests out. Big hitting DB and team leader he looks like the kind of player the Niners go after in the later rounds
Tyreem Powell LB Rutgers
6'4" 230 lb

Another later round LB that would be good in both run and zone coverage, "unicorn" build for the position

Looks good.
luckily, you can usually find a pretty decent linebacker in the later rounds. We shouldn't have to use an early pick on one.

That was always my mindset also. But their recent late LB picks haven't panned out. And one of the many hard lessons this year was how much our defense suffers when it has to rely on inadequate LB depth.

So I'm starting to wonder if we should prioritize LB a little more. Not with a high pick. But taking one between rounds 3-5 could be a good move.

Rangy linebacker who can cover

I agree, Fred was 3rd round and Dre was 5th round, that's a good range to be looking for one.
Does anyone know what our max fist round slot is and what our minimum first round slot is?

A anywhere from 13-25 depending on tie breakers and wins.

Damn, we can still drop all the way to 25, that's crazy, I thought we were locked in the 10's 😕

We are as all plavoff teams will pick after us.. so latest will be 18 if my math is correct. Very unrealistic but possible would be as high as 8...i would guess we pick between 12-15

no I think technically it's 8-18, but more like 11-16 realistically

it's gonna be close to impossible to get into the top 10

Miami, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dallas and Atlanta (playing tonight) all have 6 wins like us, but we have the highest strength-of-schedule (tie-breaker) of those teams so we would pick last out of them - we should be rooting for those 5 teams to win the rest of year

13-17 depending how the rest of season goes.

We are currently 15 but there are four in front with our same record. What are tie breaker rules? It can't be division record as that would surly push us in front of the other three. I guess I should look at their division records before I ask.

"In situations where teams finished the previous season with identical records, the determination of draft position is decided by strength of schedule — the aggregate winning percentage of a team's opponents. The team that played the schedule with the lowest winning percentage will be awarded the higher pick."

Niners are shown to have 15th pick in 1st round but total draft power ranking is 7th with 930 points
