2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

Not sure I see Conerly as a top 17 player in this draft

we're gonna go though another off season of fans wanting to force OT in the 1st. I haven't done a deep dive into prospects, just not really seeing the OT talent like last yr as far as 1st rd prospects go.

feel like DL is looking better.

Sounds like he's going to be a fast riser with a ton of upside. BPA though

This will never happen but my latest Mock draft had both Travis Hunter and Mason Graham available at 11. For argument sake if that were to happen who would you choose? DT is a bigger need and Graham is a stud but how do you pass on a guy who is both an elite CB prospect and an elite offensive weapon?

I'd still have to go Mason Graham. Time to get the DT position right and that's how you do it. My Mock Simulator, Mason Graham has always been available at #11. Then I drafted Abdul Carter once to see how my draft turned out.
I'd take Graham without hesitation.
Terrence Ferguson TE from Oregon is a good option for us in R3-4. He will definitely be TE 4-5 after the big names so will probably be available in the middle rounds.
I would guess that there are 6 OTs drafted in the 1st round. I'd predict the following order:

1 Will Campbell (tho i think he eventually moves to guard, top 10)
2 Joshua Simmons (top 12)
3 Cameron Williams (17-24)
4 Josh Connerly (17-24)
5 Kelvin Banks Jr (17-24)
6 Armand Membou (28-32)

Wyatt Milum
Armand Membou
Josh Connerly

Can all be drafted with a trade up to early 2nd rd. Either trade up for Graham or OT. Maybe even both. 11 picks are too many.

Super early but I feel like DL might be more BPA than OT if they're drafting top 12ish.

im all for moving up in the 2nd to get that OT that could potentially play inside (or battle with Colton) yr 1

Mason Graham or I'll punch your face John Lynch!!!

Haha! Yup! Here's my question for those who watch a ton of college games in regards to the draft relative to where we should be picking(10-15 slot). Who are the top rated players for these positions that fit our system as I see different grades from various sites that I looked at. I think we go to one of these 3 positions at the top for either OT, DE, DT. Who are the consensus at these positions for now before the combine. And yes, Graham is the one at DT. Who are the others that you like after him if we miss out?

Players that fit the 49ers schemes
OL- Banks, Simmons, Milum, Conerly, Mbow
DE- Mykel Williams, Jackson, Sawyer, Scourton, Tuimoloau, Burch
DT- Graham, Stewart, Nolan, Sanders,

Dream scenario for me

1. Banks
2. Sawyer

Then add Mbow a little later to play guard. If we can find an upgrade at center we'd be looking a lot better.

Sawyer sucks. No thank you. I do think Mbow can be OC1 if willing to convert. As for OP, don't discount Armand Membou

What sucks about him?

Hes a 260lb run stopping edge defender with zero standout athletic or physical traits

His athleticism and physical traits may not stand out but the kid is nasty and has a high motor which I love. Sure he's not Bosa coming outta college but then that would make him a top 5 pick, I'm hoping to get him in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Ohio State fan who has watched every single snap of his career and he is a top 5 DE from Ohio State that I have enjoyed watching and we've had a lot of them.=. He isn't flashy but he is touch and has a never stop motor. The dude would be a fan favorite, we aren't talking at pick 11 we are talking about at pick 43ish. I think he is going to have a Sam Hubbard type of career but with a higher motor. He will be a consistent 7-10 sack guy and will be a top 5 year run defender year in and year out

This OT class is not great definitely for the 49ers scheme. That's why if Banks or Simmons is there at 11/12 you have to take them. They match the system best, Campbell and Williams don't really match as they are more power guys. If they aren't there you take the best DE available and focus on T/G in round 2 because there are a lot of tweeners in round 2 and 3.

Milum and Membou are 2 of my favorite day 2 guys. I think both would start at G for a year and move out to RT after that.

Feel like both will be at their best inside…for me it's super early in the process though.

if I'm taking a OL in the top 50, I want them to be a future tackle for sure.

agreed, I do think Conerly fits the scheme just not sure he's worth a top 15 pick.
49ers need a lot of defensive help. Need a 3rd CB, Yiadom is terrible and Ward is likely gone. I haven't watched much but Barron from Texas is a stud. Who are some other ones, yall like.

Internet draftniks catching up with NFL scouting IMO. Conerly has crazy feet, left tackle feet. Could play guard for a year if needed before moving outside.
Conerly should be a first round pick and a good fit for us. I am hoping he slots more in the 20 to 32 range in the end. I'd like to end up with pick 11 and then trade down into that range and pick up another 2nd and still land him. .
