If so, then three QBs most likely will be taken in the Top 10, leaving only 7 non-QBs taken before the Niners pick at #11!

Hoping this into existence.

Milroe going top 10 has raiders written all over if Mark Davis was like his dad. Milroe is going to destroy his pro day having 1 dumb team drooling
if Brock is holding out still... guess who's picking Milroe

Take that back, AllTheTime!

Raiders taking Milroe would be such a Raider move.
I start to get myself into draft mode, usually i try to read through big boards as i do not watch college football regularely. After that i try to get some film on those prospect.

Matt Miller has a list of what he labels as the 12 "true first round grades" he has.
Agree/Disagree?

1. Travis Hunter (WR)
2. Abdul Carter (EDGE)
3. Will Johnson (CB)
4. Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT)
5. Mason Graham (DT)
6. Malaki Starks (S)
7. Ashton Jeanty (RB)
8. Jalon Walker (EDGE)
9. Tyler Warren (TE)
10. Luther Burden III (WR)
11. Tetairoa McMillan (WR)
12. Mykel Williams (EDGE)

With Ward and Sanders as the usual QBs going Top10, this should work well for us in terms of players to pick. Would you be OK with all of them at 11?

I am similar to you. I have read the QB's this year are not good. Not really first round grades (especially Sanders by some scouts), but they always become over valued do to the nature of the position.

This list look accurate and what I like is we are guaranteed one of them. Any anyone of them helps the team immediately.

I also recall Lynch saying with the changes in college ball and players staying longer the draft has become very top heavy as the talent pool is thinner. So finding those middle and late round gems becomes more unrealistic. I wonder how this will effect draft trade values etc down the line, but it makes sense.

This is a deeper draft on defense, but so far it seems there's around 12-15 first round grades then a drop off where the guy picked at 90 could easily be just as good as the one picked at 20.

Same; but as a DB guy, I love Will Johnson and Starks as well. Disappointed in you Hysterikal

Jalon Walker is really starting to grow on me as well. With the possible departure of Greenlaw; Walker is a guy that can play off ball. He reminds me of Micah Parsons in this regard and like Parsons; he's also best coming off the edge. But that versatility makes me believe that he will be high on the 49ers board

For me it's Will Johnson, Abdul Carter, Graham or Starks out of that list. I feel like Burden has gotten ridiculously overrated.
Because the team has muffed a number of the drafts going back years, and because they traded away two (+Lance) 1st round picks, there are needs everywhere. Here's my list of needs:

1. Defense Line (Edge rusher or defensive tackle, whoever will have the biggest impact)
2. Offensive Line (mainly interior)
3. Replacement FS
4. LB (assuming Greenlaw walks)
5. TE to complement Kittle
6. Backup QB
7. special teamers

Round 1 is going to be really interesting for SF. I wonder if Kyle would fall in love with Ashton Jeanty as a totally off-the-wall pick at 11. Shanahan's system needs a RB and this team is littered with injuries at the position. Counter to that move would be that Shanahan has shown the ability to plug and play unheralded guys at the position. Detroit took Gibbs. SF management has already indicated they value players who have the ball in their hands. Anyways, I think the team should go BPA here. Is that the top LB? Is that Georgia FS? Is that an edge rusher? Personally, I think it is much more difficult to find the athletic pass rushers later on in drafts than it is to find a FS, but that's me.

I refuse to get my hopes up for the FO to spend a high pick on a DB. With our successes in Huf, Lenoir and Mufasa I can guarantee we will not take a DB in the first round. So this is my face of defeat. Get a DT that's gonna make the DBs life easier and hire JV as a DB coach. My only requests

I think I prefer Walter Nolen over Graham personally. To be fair I watched a lot more Nolen than Graham. Nolen is exactly what our DL is missing.

When I watched Grahams stuff he reminds me of what we already have. In terms of losing their gap integrity. Plenty of clips of him flying past the QB/RB leaving a lane/pocket for them. And that's his highlights. Yea it's nice he gets in there but if you're just giving them lanes, we already have enough of that. Nolen collapses the pocket while maintaining his responsibility.

At least from my observation.
The more I dig in, the more the strength of this class appears to be interior DL and cornerback.

I would really like it if the niners decide to Zig this year. Pick from the abundance of talent, and don't overthink it. Last year's strength was OL. Imagine how much better we'd feel going into this year's draft having drafted Zach Frazier, Roger Rosengarten and Dominick Puni. Hell, throw in Mason McCormick too. I'm using the benefit of hindsight, but all were well regarded prospects and all were available, with very minor maneuvering at worst. I love Green, but Cam Hart was there for the taking as well.

I also wouldn't mind if the niners Zag. If everyone is taking DL and DB, take the OL that is falling to us. Use the depth at DL and DB to our advantage, using a few dart throws late. A pretty cool "all-developmental" OL draft would be Cameron Williams who you'd let take his lumps at RT and Anthony Belton who'd start at LG and get his footwork right by the time he's expected to take over for big Trent. Heck, I'd love that.

What i don't want to see: niners go full zignoramus. These are your Jake Moody, Cameron Latu and excessive running back picks that set you back a year at a time.

I'll get heat for this, and I am not all suggesting that Brock Purdy is in the same tier as Pat Mahomes. It is undeniable that Purdy regressed in some ways this year. But shannahan, if we trust him at his word, has tied his career to Purdy. He is here to stay. 49ers and chiefs had comparable situations on offense this year: inconsistency at RB because of injury, questions at OT, TE and an unheralded WR as primary offensive targets because of injury. And Brock and Mahomes finished with very comparable stats. I dont watch chiefs games with regularity, and so I don't know if mahomes made as many head scratching plays late in games as Purdy, but again, the stats are very comparable with suboptimal offensive conditions for both. Yet mahomes (again, the best QB in the league) had an elite interior OL, a defense that can stand up for 4 quarters, and a special teams that ranks better than literal worst in the league with a kicker that won't make you positive money if you bet that he'll miss each kick. That's at least the difference between a few wins and losses that showed up on each teams record. Nailing this draft will go a long way to restoring confidence in this team.

Bonus tidbits:
I think Danny Stutsman is my LB1
I think Dante Trader Jr might be my target at safety
Brandon Thorne has Membou as OT1

TLDR:
Trent Williams, Mason McCormick, Zach Frazier, Dominick Puni, Roger Rosengarten would have been one hell of an OL. Draft developmental LT this year and prosper.

Cameron Williams and Anthony Belton would require patience, but would potentially be awesome bookend tackles of the future.

DB and DL are strongest positions of need in the draft.

Draft Danny Stutsman and Dante Trader Jr in the middle rounds if we lose LB and/or Safety in FA.

Membou is an immediate starter at RT.

Oh okay I gotcha. I agree and don't think they will take a DB in round 1 as well. I was just answering to the fact that he said of the list; it's Graham and Banks by a mile as his favorites.

For me; it's Graham along with Will Johnson and Starks, not thinking we'd get any of them lol

Not a major fan of Banks. UT has one of the best OL coaches in college football and the guy still commits too many dumb penalties at the worst times. The ASU game was a perfect example. 4th and 8 with a must conversion for Texas needed and Banks jumps, pushing it to 4th and 13.

He also plays lethargic way too often, moving with heavy feet, got worked over by Josaiah Stewart of Michigan and looked like his feet were stuck in cement.

I'm also not entirely convinced that he wouldn't make a much better guard than tackle at the NFL level but nobody will be drafting him to play guard.
