2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

If there is someone they think is a top 5 talent sitting there at 8 or 9 we should trade up, otherwise stay put and pick BPA, there is always a great player sitting at 11.

We will overthink it though, if we pick a 3rd rate DT or OT I'm going to need a lot of weed.
I really don't want any "projects". Everytime we draft a guy with "all the tools but hasn't put it together yet" kinda guy, we end up stashing that player on the depth chart just to end up replacing or cutting them later.
Give me Benjamin Morrison if he declares.

Matt Miller has a list of what he labels as the 12 "true first round grades" he has.
Agree/Disagree?

1. Travis Hunter (WR)
2. Abdul Carter (EDGE)
3. Will Johnson (CB)
4. Kelvin Banks Jr. (OT)
5. Mason Graham (DT)
6. Malaki Starks (S)
7. Ashton Jeanty (RB)
8. Jalon Walker (EDGE)
9. Tyler Warren (TE)
10. Luther Burden III (WR)
11. Tetairoa McMillan (WR)
12. Mykel Williams (EDGE)

With Ward and Sanders as the usual QBs going Top10, this should work well for us in terms of players to pick. Would you be OK with all of them at 11?

interesting that Will Campbell isn't in his top 12

I've read there is some concern on his arm length like possibly under 33", I guess we'll find out at the combine.

I've never really understood the concern with arm lenght. If it's an inch or so does it really make that much difference? Not like comparing a kangaroo with an orangutan.

This

It's just math, the longer the arms the further the DE has to go to get around them. Longer the arms the further out of the rush arc the defender is pushed
Healthy RT, healthy C, healthy ER, healthy DT. Draft and/or FA. And please, no has beens or never was.

It's like a penis size. That extra inch matters.

Same here, this draft will be so important. when I see the word "raw" in a scouting report, it's a turn off. I think SF will play it relatively safe. That's what they did this last draft; they got experienced football players, and looked how well it worked out.

Has there ever been a raw prospect that ever panned out?

good question. seems to be uncommon for sure
There are "safe" picks that don't pan out.

also true. I think this last draft should be a blueprint. It seems like game experience was a big factor.
I owe the Sawyer stans an apology. He might just be a gamer. One of those players who don't look like they should ball out, but they just ball out any way, especially in the biggest moments. The way he dipped under the tackle and caused a strip to recover for his own fumble six....great play.
