2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

This Shemar Stewart guy is very intriguing, his versatility would be welcome on our D Line. at 6'6" 290 he has length and quickness to get after the QB but also the strength to anchor against the Run. Reminds we of a more talented Arik Armstead.

Yay, someone did the cutups for us

Some beautiful reps in there. So fun to watch a 290lb guy with absolute knee scratchers lined up on the edge in a 2 point stance.

I like the idea of Kittle helping to train up fellow TE U alum Luke Lachey

You're right. Looking at that list, it's surprising how many names popped. Usually (the shrine game especially) the roster consists of a higher number of somewhat obscure players.

As in Kenneth Grant from Michigan? I'm really surprised he's agreed to the Shrine game. If he dominates, detractors could say "lesser competition". And if he looks average, it's a bad look.

However, as a fan, I love it that these guys want to compete at any possible opportunity.

Yeah, I like the DL depth this year. That's why I will be ok getting the OT at 11 for the eventual successor to Trent Williams and go DL in Round 2 and 3. Fix the trenches baby!

BPA.

If the DL (or even DB) is BPA over the T at #11 you go DL. Otherwise you get McGlinchey when you should have had Minkah.

If the OL and DL are graded the same look at what's more likely to available in the 2nd round at our pick and pick the opposite position in the 1st.

Hell if Mason Graham falls to #7 I'd be more than fine trading up to get him. I'm not married to having to get a certain position in the 1st; I'm married to maximizing the value of the pick and getting the best available player period.

Rather take Starks/Will Johnson than a T if they are graded higher at our spot. If the T is the best player on the board by all means let's draft him.

Or you get Kinlaw or Solomon Thomas.. Who knows really.. Trent Williams have been missing games now the past couple of years and how old is he? And who do we have to take over for him? We also want to pay Brock big money and we don't invest enough high grade OT to protect him? Nahhh….

Solomon Thomas was a reach at #3 and Kinlaw had known knee issues even before the draft.

This is what happens when you go in targeting a certain position you want/need. Thomas the regime wanted to start by building the DL and Kinlaw was obviously to replace Buckner.

Bad choices.

BPA gives the best chance at success. I know you want a T but they need to be worthy of the pick where they are selected and not foregoing more elite talent at another position that has a better chance to be elite and not bust.

Kinlaw was an extremely raw guy with known knee issues. At this point they should stay away from anyone with significant injury concerns.

Would Simmons classify as that? Or was it a 1x tear?

Great question. Because Simmons is the only T possibly I like for us at #11.

Heard someone say if not for the injury he goes top 5 in the draft.

Kinlaw had a chronic knee issue.
