I'll be shocked if Connelly isn't the pick at 11. The Niners never go for a sure thing in round one and thus they reach. Picking a player with a second or third round grade at 11 is par for the course for Shanny and Lynch. What amazes me is why don't we trade back, amass more picks and THEN make your selection? Connelly or Ersery out of Minnesota should be there in the second. So be patient and don't reach!
But this is the Niners…..
Second or third round grade according to who? You?

Most draft experts compile a list of the top 15 prospects. I just pray that the Niners don't try to get too cute and pick a player who most think are not on the list of potentially best in the draft class. Pick BPA and be happy with the pick! I trust the draft pundits who compile these lists more than I do Shanny/Kyle.

Its funny because more and more mock drafts are having him go early. As time goes on they'll start to catch up to the NFL consensus.

It's early, but mocks have generally been all over the place thus far. Connerly is a good example—some guys have him going late first, others have him top 10.

If most "draft experts" were draft experts, they'd be working for NFL teams. Mike Mayock was one of the very best of the draftnik crowd and he bombed as an NFL GM.

We need talent.
At #11 just take BPA.
As simple as that.

I hate to break it to you but the same draft experts you talk about all have the same type grades on the players the NFL front offices have except they dont have access to their medicals or one on one interviews.
Just remember they had Josh Rosen over Lamar Jackson.

Agreed. Conerly allegedly runs 5.0 40, he's exactly the kind of player that skyrockets his stock at the underware Olympics

Lynch doesn't have a good track record of drafting the BPA, or the draft for that matter. Even more evident in the early rounds. Taking a look back at all his first and second round picks.
2017 (1st round, 3rd overall) - Solomon Thomas
2017 (1st round, 31st overall) - Reuben Foster
2018 (1st round, 9th overall) - Mike McGlinchey
2018 (2nd round) - Dante Pettis
2018 (3rd round) - Tavarius Moore
2019 (1st round, 2nd overall) - Nick Bosa
2019 (2nd round) - Deebo Samuel
2019 (2nd round) - Jalen Hurds
2020 (1st round) - Javon Kinlaw
2020 (1st round) - Brandon Aiyuk
2021 (1st round, 3rd overall) - Trey Lance
2021 (2nd round) - Aaron Banks
2022 (2nd round) - Drake Jackson
After trading away Buckner, he used the pick they got to draft Javon Kinlaw, who isn't even on the team anymore while passing Justin Jefferson, Ceedee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy, ending up with Aiyuk. He took Jake Moody with a 3rd round pick because they needed a kicker. They needed a QB in 2021, so Lynch takes Trey Lance while 5 of the next 6 picks has gone on to be Pro Bowlers. Sorry, but I just don't have faith in Lynch in those early rounds and wouldn't count on him on drafting the best available player.

NFL teams still get it wrong half the time. In every sport athletes have to rise to a new level as their career progresses. Projecting whether any player is going to be able to compete at the next level is always a crapshoot. There are very few sure things.

Honestly, drafting an offensive lineman at 11 doesn't fit this team's MO. I think the team has to be thinking defensive line in round 1. It is much easier to find serviceable offensive lineman later in drafts because it's more about scheme fit for them. With defensive lineman it is often about elite physical metrics, freakish size, speed, etc, and that you can't usually find later in drafts.
I'm curious what round the offensive lineman for the teams remaining were taken in.

Oh absolutely. NFL teams are dealing with far more comprehensive and detailed information on these players and still miss all the time.
If anything I think there might be too much info for teams, makes them over think their views on certain players.
