2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

Honestly, drafting an offensive lineman at 11 doesn't fit this team's MO. I think the team has to be thinking defensive line in round 1. It is much easier to find serviceable offensive lineman later in drafts because it's more about scheme fit for them. With defensive lineman it is often about elite physical metrics, freakish size, speed, etc, and that you can't usually find later in drafts.

I'm curious what round the offensive lineman for the teams remaining were taken in.

They drafted McGlinchey at #10.

I do agree that they are more likely to take a defensive player that early but I wouldnt rule out OL either depending on who is available. Someone like Conerly fits everything this offense does to a T.

I just hope they don't draft a defensive player with freakish physical skills that has an injury history. They did that with Kinlaw and some others before him. Don't try and outsmart everyone and draft a unknown player. Go with the guys that produced in college and don't have an injury history. Don't fall in love with the combine stuff. That's fine as long as it shows up in game films but when it doesn't that should be a red flag.
The draft is just about three months away but this time of year it feels like a lot longer than that.

If the Niners stay at 11, an ideal scenario before they pick (the bold):

-3 QBs go (Ward, Sanders...maybe Milroe)

-An OL goes (probably Campbell)

-1 WR (McMillan)

-A surprise pick (maybe another WR like Burden, or maybe the RB Jeanty - a team becomes infatuated thinking he's a home run hitter like Barkley)

-An unexpected Edge goes (Pearce or Stewart) or maybe a TE (Warren or Loveland)

The above would equal 7 picks and leaving just 3 more before the Niners pick.

Those 3 will most definitely be from Hunter, Carter, Graham, Johnson, and Starks.

Would leave two of the above for the Niners to choose, which would be incredible. Probably Johnson or Starks as no way Hunter, Carter or Graham fall that far.

However, if Graham falls to 7 (or worse), would completely be in favor of the Niners trading up to get him.

Otherwise, to have 2 talents like Johnson or Starks available at 11...sign me up!

I'd be perfectly happy with either Johnson or Starks. Those are among the few elite talents in this draft class.

No way Milroe goes top 10. I dont think Campbell goes either as many may think his best position is guard.

If Graham, Starks or Johnson are there I take them. They can use the # 43 + picks to try and move up if a tackle starts to fall within range.

Do not sell the Raiders short.

Agreed. Starks may be more of a reality at 11. My above scenario is probably too good to be true, yet the draft always surprises every year so you never know.

Graham is the guy I really want. Put him right in the middle of the Niners' DL and let's go!

Oh yeah, there's usually at least a couple that move into the picture by April that weren't really part of the discussion in January.

I don't know about Milroe. But I see Dart going 1st round. Possibly top 10

Watch Dart just go off at the combine and his Pro Day. He is a talented QB...will some team in the Top 10 become enamored with him? I sure hope so. Either him or Milroe...3 QBs going in the Top 10 would be excellent for the Niners. (Raiders, make it happen!)

We need a complete OL rebuild, but at the same time I hope we BPA. Reaching at the 12th is no bueno

It's a good thing they're picking 11th then.

Agree with you guys. It will be Dart that rises if anyone. He has those "traits" that teams fall in love with and hope to mold into his potential.
