2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

How many blue chip guys we got in this draft? I feel like it's a deep draft just not full of those elite level guys at the top.

No need to take a OL in round 1. You can get the same guy in the 2nd. Just nothing special about this group of OL. Good depth, but no bonafide freaks.

Agreed. Which is exactly why they are going to do it. Watch

He speaks the truth

Let's wait for the NFL combine. Several of these OTs are going to get measured with shorter arms and will be viewed as Guards, and therefore may/should drop.
Since they're fun, I did a mock draft and ended up:

11th - Shavon Revel, CB East Carolina
43rd - Landon Jackson, DE Arkansas
75th - Anthony Belton, OT NC State
99th - Luke Lachey, TE Iowa
111th - Savion Williams, WR TCU
137th - Demetrius Knight Jr., LB South Carolina
138th - Miles Frazier, OG LSU
186th - Patrick Jenkins, DT Tulane
225th - Nick Nash, WR SJSU
255th - Chandler Martin, LB Memphis

Not a big fan at the top half of that draft if I'm being honest.

do like the Jenkins pick late. I'm a fan.

1. Mason Graham
2. Abdul Carter
3. Travis Hunter
4. Will Johnson
5. Malaki Starks
6. Tetairoa McMillan
7. Ashton Jeanty

more reason why we should trade up for Carter or Graham (whoever lasts longer)
Was listening to Matt miller on KNBR and he had watts and Mukuba as his #1 and #2 safeties and specifically mentioned ball hawk types. Just missed what he was saying about starks, but was surprised

Kevin Winston Jr. should not be slept on. Dudes a baller and I know everyone wants a center fielder but he fits our mold of Safety we tend to go after. I would not mind cause this Winston kid is special. Oh and he missed 1 tackle all year. 1.

It's a deep and stacked class. Winston Jr is a stud; best technique/sound tackling safety prospect that I may have ever watched prior to a draft. This is the draft to get DL and Secondary help and yes I know we need OL.

I agree with them 3 mentioned, I also like Nick Emmanmori, Latham Ransom and Sebastian Castro ( Castro to me tho is a perfect slot CB but has played S )

Seems like unless there is a no brainer there at 11, might be best to move back a bit for a comparable talent, pick up another 2 or 3 and load up

Elijah Arroyo is the kinda guy I want at TE2. could be a really good value in this draft. Not gonna say who he reminds me of but if he HANGS around in the draft it would be a KILLER pick.

He's had one drop in his college career. And 17 YPC last year for a a TE is nuts.

But aside from last year where he was really good he was injured two years in a row. That would make me very wary.

Ransom is my guy. Another rocked up, jacked safety, He's not the prototypical FS but he can play and is an alpha leader, We need guys like him.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up. But would it be a good trade if all parties agreed. The 49ers trade the 11th pick for Jeffery Simmons from the titans? That would give the titans two first round picks and they need severs players. And the 49ers need a dominant D tackle.

Niners need to get cheaper and younger. They need more players. This is a quality DL draft. Always liked Simmons not doing that.

Unless a blue chip player drops to them, If I'm SF I'm gonna try and move down

They don't just need more players, they need cheaper players too. They have to be looking for the next Simmons like DL on a cost contained contract.
