Niners need to get cheaper and younger. They need more players. This is a quality DL draft. Always liked Simmons not doing that.

Unless a blue chip player drops to them, If I'm SF I'm gonna try and move down

Or if like I have in my mock, Mason Graham falls to 8, trade a 3rd and get him ! Only Mason Graham or Abdul Carter I'd move up for tho..

Elijah Arroyo is the kinda guy I want at TE2. could be a really good value in this draft. Not gonna say who he reminds me of but if he HANGS around in the draft it would be a KILLER pick.

He's had one drop in his college career. And 17 YPC last year for a a TE is nuts.

But aside from last year where he was really good he was injured two years in a row. That would make me very wary.

Yeah his injury history is concerning. Just he seems dynamic with the ball in his hands and he run blocks like he hates the dude he is blocking.

Very true on all but the injuries are big so maybe he'll be around with one of our 4th and I'd love that.

I'm sure we could get Simmons for a 3rd and maybe 2026 5th.

No-way in hell I'd trade our 1 or 2 for a DT considering this is the deepest DL draft in a decade.
I will say the same thing this year that I say every year. When you are drafting in the top half of the first round, take the best player available (other than a QB). Drafting for need is how you end up with Solomon Thomas and Javon Kinlaw.

Soloman was considered the BPA and a safe pick.
I keep looking at mocks and simulators..... for the top 5 rounds there's almost always quality defender who falls and can easily contribute. Much rarer to see it happen with someone offense, especially o line.

So I hope they can somehow bolster the o line via FA and let the draft come to them because that seems the logical move. I am fairly convinced at this point this is the draft to reload the defense.

Since we're judging "bpa" by mock drafts:

He was indeed a consensus top-10 pick, but that doesn't mean he was BPA for the Niners.

I like Graham also. If the 49ers can trade up and get him then I would not be mad about that.

By a f**k ton of people. Mahomes should have been the 1st pick and Garrett should have been the pick at two if we're gonna play make believe.

Solomon was nowhere near safe. He was a late riser to the draft board

It wasnt top 10, it was top 3. There was Myles Garrett, and then there was Jamal Adams and Soloman Thomas. Some teams philosophically would have been lower on him because of size, but lets not use the hindsight of how his career turned out to rewrite history about him as a prospect. He was rated pac-12s #1 defensive lineman. He was comped to Justin Smith by Lance Zierlein. He was considered an elite run defender with rare quickness and ability as a pass rusher when reduced inside. He was a late riser to the internet because he was, if iirc, a redshirt junior coming out. Rest assured, the NFL didn't randomly and collectively decide one day to shoot him up the board to a consensus top 3 talent in the draft.
