2025 Draft Prospect Watch List and Discussion

I kinda disagree that there are several lineman this yr that would have went in the 1st last yr…from what I've seen so far.

Here's a question… how would you guys stack the OT class the last 2 years in order of grade, fit and preference for our system with last year and this year's class? Here's mine.
Alt (pick 5)
Fashanu (11)
Fuaga (14)
Latham (7)
Conerly
Membou
Mims (18)
Fautanu (20)
Simmons-due to injury
Guyton (29)
Morgan (25)

I would put Fautanu over conerly abs Membou.

That's not what the scouting reports have been saying. Evey O lineman has issues. Not big enough. Too slow. Good run block but can't pass block. Whatever. The same could be said for some of the D lineman as well so it really come down to best player at either postion when they pick. They need both so it doesn't matter as long as they hit on this selection.

Most of the scouting reports don't mean a hill of beans honestly. A lot of it is "monkey see, monkey do" group logic nonsense.

THIS IS A HORRIBLE DRAFT FOR OL!

And then everyone and their uncle repeats that ad nauseum, meanwhile I'm seeing a first round stacked with OL talent. Is Kelvin Banks a perfect tackle? No, At the minimum you're getting a guy who has top tier NFL guard upside. Same thing with Campbell. Maybe he works out at tackle and if he does, then he projects to be a very good tackle, but at worst you can have him play guard and he's likely to be damn good there.

Josh Simmons is unquestionably elite and would be tackle #1 for me easily if he didn't have the injury issues.

Conerly to me is a 1st rounder, he's very similar to Rashawn Slater who went #12 a few years ago and is now one of the best tackles in football.

For a "terrible OL" draft, you'll likely see 5-7 OL go in the first round and with most of them start ready with strong NFL upside.

Yeah, I like Fautanu's tape and his overall athleticism. Almost identical to Conerly in terms of height/weight.
Seen 1 clip of Efton Chism III, and he looks like a shanny WR. Strong hands, good change of direction. Track and field numbers from highschool paint him as an average athlete tho
Last year's OT class was abnormally strong.

Simmons without injury is a top 12 draft pick.
Connerly, Membou, Campbell are 1st round talents in any draft.
Joshua Gray, Oregon State

Getting used exclusively as a center at Shrine

I think he's a guard in the NFL.

How many 6'3 tackles have success in the league?

Even Zach Tom and Rashawn Slater are 6'4. Agility and athleticism are great traits but you still need length.

Don't let kittle see this tape or he will be begging John/kyle to draft him.
Donovan Jackson at LG could also move to LT if trent Williams is out for any games. 36" arms played both spots at Ohio ST. Josh Connerly would be perfect RT for the 49ers. Wait and see how high both draft stocks rise after senior bowl and combine

His wingspan should be a non-issue once he measures in

Outside of Graham there might not be a DT worth taking at #11. There's depth to the class but it's not particularly top heavy.

They should trade down if they get a good offer

If he's measures in at 6'3" he will be in the 1% as far as height measurements go at OT 😬

Oh wow. He's even higher in my draft board now.

He's a perfect fit for us.

He is obviously versatile and extremely athletic. Perfect for our zone blocking scheme. Reminds me of Dominic Puni. Refined and experienced. 56 career starts. 44 at LT and 12 at LG. Day 1 starter at LG.

I'd take him with 3.73 all day long
