IMO without getting started at who's who, looking at needs SF has to invest into the trenches.

Needs that the Niners HAVE to fill in the next draft:
1 - DT/NT - Niners are soft up the middle against the run
1a - OT - Need a LT of the future and a RT of the present
2 - EDGE - Need someone to bookend Bosa as a pass rusher and someone who can set the edge as a run defender
3 - CB - Ward, Thomas, Ya-Sin and maybe Luter Jr will be gone next year
4 - C/OG - Need a Center to replace Brendel ASAP and also someone to replace Banks who the Niners will likely let go in FA
5 - FS - Niners need someone who can cover at safety
6- WR - Deebo has lost a step and he costs too much; need a speed WR to take the top off of defenses
7 - QB - Late round developmental QB to give Purdy some competition and the team some cover
8 - LB - Need someone to replace Dre if they can't re-sign him
9 - RB - Mitchell will be cut or traded so they need to add to the RB room.

So everything lol

LOL, what do we think is higher priority? , a staring Tackle, Guard, Center, edge, or DT who can actually stop the run? Then from there what prospects are projected available around our pick and is one clearly above the others at any of those positions etc.

1 - DT/NT: Mason Graham, Michigan (hate that this is even a remote possibility), Dontay Corleone, Cincinnati. DeMonte Capehart, Clemson. Caleb Banks, Florida. Aeneas Peebles, Virginia Tech. Graham can play anywhere. Corleone and Capehart are NT types. Banks and Peebles are pass rush types.

1a - OT: Slim pickings. Will have to get lucky to draft one immediate starter, let alone 2. I like Cameron Williams, Texas. Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota (realistic 1st round pick). Marcus Mbow, Purdue. Charles Grant, William & Mary. Armand Membou, Missouri.

2 - EDGE: Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M (my leading pick for round 1). Donovan Ezeiruaku, Boston College. LT Overton, Alabama. Kyle Kennard, South Carolina. Jasheen Davis, Purdue.

3 - CB. Will be a major need. I hope we get Jahdae Barron, Texas as our 2nd round pick. I also like Will Lee III, Texas A&M.

4 - IOL. We should have taken a center last year. I agree Banks is gone, but I think his replacement is going to have to be someone already on the roster. Not sure we're finding a stud Center in the draft, but we have to at least try - Brendel is not it. I like Jake Slaughter, Florida. Jonah Monheim, USC. Logan Jones, Iowa.

If we can do first 4 rounds something like
1. Shemar Stewart, DE
2. Jahdae Barron, NCB
3. Marcus Mbow, RT
3. DeMonte Capehart, NT
4. Jake Slaughter, OC
It would go a long way toward infusing youth and talent at key positions. Of course, by the time the draft rolls around, i probably got 3 1st rounders in there.

Assuming we arent in range for obvious studs like Abdul Carter, Mason Graham or Will Johnson, I hope we get one of Shemar Stewart, Cameron Williams or Aireontae Ersery with our 1st round pick in the late teens.

For WR, I like Nick Nash SJSU as a late round flyer. I think Aiyuk, Pearsall, Cowing is a pretty fast group.

RB room is not needing anymore draft picks. CMC, Mason, Guerendo is more than fine. Bring someone in as an UDFA if necessary.

Nice ideas across the board on the prospects. Just don't like Stewart as the 1st round pick with his lack of production.

At the rate the Niners are getting hurt and playing badly, they will likely end up with a pick in the top 15.
Jay Higgins LB Iowa
6'2" 232 lbs
Jay Higgins fits the mold of a potential three-down WILL in a 4-3 front at the next level, with the instincts and coverage chops to stay on the field in sub-packages. His tackling prowess and run-stuffing ability should translate immediately, making him a day one contributor against the ground game and on passing downs.
His tweener size and average athleticism may limit his scheme versatility, but he's tailor-made for a 4-3 defense that can protect him with a stout front four. His special teams experience will be his ticket onto the field early as he acclimates to the speed of the pro game.
While Higgins may not possess the elite physical traits that scouts drool over, his production, football acumen, and well-rounded skill set make him a high-floor prospect likely to come off the board on day two. He projects as a solid starter with the potential to outplay his draft position thanks to his reliability and diverse skill set.

Interesting prospect. Could be a Round 2 pick but could be there in the 49ers' money Round 5. I think his combine times will determine if he has the speed that Shanahan prefers in LBs. Regardless of whether Greenlaw stays or departs in free agency, the 49ers need to find depth at the WILL.

Mike Green~ Marshall Edge Rusher
Jonah Savaiinaea OL Arizona - has played both OT spots and can play G
First and foremost, my deepest condolences to both the ward and Williams families. Such a tragic loss for both families. The draft has a few players at positions of need. RT ersery, Cameron Williams, Josh Simmons, Jack Nelson. CB Benjamin Morrison, barron, davison Igbinosun, tacario Davis. DE princely, Kyle Kennard, mykel Williams. If and only if Kyle Shanahan is brought back, the ultimate gadget player would be tyler Warren at TE.
Just started watching prospects last week. Only looked at top 100 DL and OT so far, and these are my favorites so far. My preference would be OT in 1st because there are not many. DL 2nd round because there are so many good ones. You could get a dlineman at 50 that would have been a 1st rounder last year

OT
1. Campbell
2. Banks
3. Simmons
4. Milum
5. Ersery
6. Williams

DL
1. Graham
2. Pearce
3. Carter
4. Williams
5. Sawyer
6. Green

Would love for the 49ers to draft him. Should be there when we draft

depending on health, he could be a guy SF would be interested in

Obviously we have to wait until we got closer to the draft, but it seems right now there are 2 tackles that are considered top 10~. I guess if we end up picking around 10 that makes sense otherwise I would not want to reach for an OT. I would rather get a better player along the d line like that monster of a human Banks. Depending on how it plays out (draft itself and our current players) I would then draft 2-3 tackles middle rounds in hopes one hits.

very nice. I think that top pick will be BPA, because we need d-line and o line regardless. I like our young corners in Lenoir and Green. I wish they could keep Ward as that would allow them to focus elsewhere, especially in the earlier rounds.
obviously we still have 5 months... but unless we get a blue chip OT (Campbell, Banks) or a blue chip DLmen (Graham, Carter) -- I would think this would be a great time to trade back as many times as possible... load up on day 3 picks and more picks for future drafts

I'm not a big detailed college follower.. what's next year's draft flooded with ?

I'm not either and I don't know if you can really project that far in advanced

I'm just thinking next season isn't going to be all-in like this year was supposed to be... and with Purdy's contract coming, we're going to need a lot of contributing players on rookie contracts the next few seasons. It would be nice to have a reserve of future picks.
I wonder how much the Knee injury hurts Simmons draft stock. Hopefully a lot. His sample size this year playing at this level is too small, but if we were to take out an equal sample size from any other player, his play has been OT1 worthy

Simmons, Stewart, Barron, Capeheart...officially my 4 draft crushes
