Well, to be blunt, I don't think John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan can afford to miss picks, so I'm leaning towards optimism and giving them the benefit of the doubt with Puni and the 2024 draft momentum going into this year. If the 49ers miss this draft, it's over. Most of us won't be even be on the webzone in the future when Jed York hires the next Jim Tomsula or Chip Kelly-esque head coach.

Also, for the record--Graham is my favorite player at the top of the draft. My dream draft right now starts with Graham in round 1 and Carson Schwesinger in round 2.

Yeah it's fair, but it's unrealistic to expect them to hit all 11 picks. I'd take 5-6 starters and if one of them was great I'd take 1 less. I'm with you that I think Graham will be great.

2-3 starters from a draft is extremely optimistic

2-3 starters from a draft isn't optimistic given our current roster. 2-3 good starters is another story.

Nope. Stay put or trade back. More picks the better!!! Even getting 2026 picks is good. Stop trading away draft choices.

They have plenty of ammunition to move this year and they already have another 11 picks next year. These next two draft seasons they have a chance to build another superbowl caliber team with cap flexibility.

I don't think anyone who really follows the draft and understands it expects to hit all the picks. I can live with the misses that just don't pan out. It's the kickers way to early, trading up for RB's and taking TE's that were projected to go two rounds later that even the casual fan knew wouldn't work out that are hard to swallow.

Yeah, that's fair, but they've also hit big in later rounds that no one expected either. Purdy, Greenlaw, Lenoir, Hufanga, Kittle were all unbelievable picks out of nowhere. They've obviously got a formula of what they look for, so it's hard to argue when they go against the norm.

Assuming it's going to take at least a 3rd-round pick to trade up, would you trade the 11th overall pick and Dominick Puni for either of those guys? Because that's the mentality the 49ers need to have going into the draft given the substantial number of holes on the roster.

Besides that, the depth of this draft in going be extremely strong on day 2/early 3 for the DL, which is 49ers' greatest need going into the draft. There are going to be a number of guys drafted in those rounds who are going to be impact starters and contributors from the jump. There's no need to panic and give away picks.

I fully expect the 11th pick to be a bit underwhelming as all of the consensus guys we like are likely gone by 11 as well as the 49ers being unable to trade back. The excitement of the draft doesn't really start until day 2 for me.

I'm not sure it's that simple Hero (and I'm very surprised you aren't all over Graham) would I trade 11 and Puni? No, but would I trade 11 and Latu or Sermon or Tig Brown or Ambry Thomas? Absolutely

With this regimes track record with 3rd round picks the chances of that player being a complete bust are extremely high.

Puni never would have started if it wasn't for injuries either. Another big flaw with this regime is starting mediocre players for too long .

I'm putting money down, this is the WR the 49ers draft.

I could see Shanahan using Williams the same way he did Deebo. And with that said, the 49ers met with Savion Williams at the Combine.
Just listened to Kyle's presser…get ready for a s**t ton of picks on the DL and they're for sure adding LBers.

Anyone who wants OL, starting looking at prospects down the list lol. They seem pretty happy with the OL.

Just listening to Kyle, I don't see them trying to replace Deebo. I wouldn't hate the pick, I just don't see them going out of their way to fill that spot. IMO if he's there on day 3 then they might do that.

Especially at center.

I agree. Pearsall will be getting more targets. Kittle needs more targets. CMC should be back as our # priority.

Grab a depth OT like Logan Brown. Grab a depth WR, TE and RB later.

Load up on the D.

It's pretty bleak there overall

Kyle talked about the Luke Farrel signing and him being one of the better blocking TEs in football and how that relates to Kittle getting more action as a pass catcher. They're gonna pay him at some point to catch balls.

I haven't watch Brown at all. I like Grant in the 3rd if there. I like Slater at OG/C late day 3 to develop into something.

I don't see DB early either. Not their M.O. Kyle talked about him and John being in sync with DL being the foundation of a defense.

This is what I posted yesterday as well. I expect at least 4-5 dlineman and at least 2 linebackers to be taken in the draft. We will see.

Agreed. Our offense really missed that blocking TE. We regressed last year when we let Woernwe leave for ATL.

This team goes as our DLine goes. It's what got us to a SB.

I fully expect us to go EDGE, LB, DT, DT

1. Mykel Williams - Edge
2- Carson Schweshinger - LB
3- Josh Farmer - DT
3- Alfred Collins - DT
4- Logan Brown - OT
5- Jaylin Conyers - TE
5- Joshua Gray - OG
7- Patrick Jenkins - DT
7- Cam Horsley - DT
7- Alijah Huzzie - CB
