Everyone and their bald headed granny been talking about how loaded the draft is on the defense side of it all... even in later rounds. That being said, we really need to think about a swing tackle early. TW is playing at a high level but only when he's on the field. He missed a lot of time in the past two seasons and I really don't think we have another Jaylon Moore on the team. FO will probably snag one sooner than we think, one who can slide in guard right away and incase one of the OT miss time, plus it prepares him for replacement of either side.

BTW, did we lose one of our 4th rd picks?

I'm sure they take a OT in the draft, but Burford is probably the swing tackle this yr.

I want Membou but don't hold your breath on them going OL early based off both their pressers
Hopefully that was just smokescreen and then they say
I want DL at 11, but if they go DB, who's the better fit, (or is just better) Barron or Johnson?
Great listen if you got some free time

Great 49ers gift ideas

IMO they will play different positions in the NFL

Johnson is that boundary CB. Better in off man zone stuff imo.

Barron is a NCB/S at the next level. I don't see him as a true boundary CB.

if you got a min, listen to the pod I just posted above. Good explanation of what they are from some smart analysts.
Even if their pattern seems to be D-line, f they sense a dire need for an OL, then I think they wouldn't hesitate if the player they wanted is there at #11. They did take McGlinchey with the 9th overall pick. My latest mock went:

11 - Armond Membou, OT Missouri
43 - Landon Jackson, DE Arkansas
75 - Jordan Burch, DE/DL Oregon
100 - Jackson Slater, OG Sacramento State
113 - Jeffrey Bassa, OLB Oregon
138 - Bhayshul Tuten, RB Virginia Tech
147 - Nick Nash, WR San Jose State
160 - Zah Frazier, CB UTSA
227 - Malachi Moore, S Alabama
249 - Ahmed Hassanein, DL Boise State
252 - Luke Lachey, TE Iowa

You have no one to stop the run. Can't wait till pick 249

I mean I don't see any real IDL there at all?

they HAVE to come out of this draft with multiple interior defensive lineman and not late rd guys only.

End of 2026 - 49ers defense jumped back into the top tier and are well suited to be good for years... unfortunately the offense couldn't get it done and Purdy has regressed behind a suspect offensive line ...

We just lost two lineman in FA that everyone s**t on for the majority of their time here. Those two in total got over $100M.

I think SF can find some lineman that can make s**t work. They got one of the best ones in the 2024 draft in the 3rd rd. They turned Colton into a serviceable RT.

Top 4 in yards per game, top 7 in YPC, top 13 in pts per game, 9th in 3rd down completion % etc etc. that's without 3 of our top offensive players being available most of the yr and guys hurt all over the place.

unless Brock turns into a pumpkin. The offense will be fine. They will get more players there and keep it going. They need to be better in the RZ and the defense needs to return to what they're suppose to be.

I agree in that there is no way I'm overpaying in FA so they were right to let Banks etc walk.

While I do believe they can find a guard and center almost anywhere in the draft. I think a tackle is a higher round investment and that's an area of need for me. My question is we will actually see them draft some bodies and hope one hits etc.

And this is what happens when we take an OT in the first.

We would still have GLARING holes at DT and we wouldn't be able to get our D off the field.

The Eagles and Lions would run for 300 against us with that D.
You can make an argument for taking about 10 different guys at #11. You can also make an argument for trading back or trading up to get another st rounder.

That's ridiculous OL in the 1st doesn't prevent them from addressing the DL.
If Emeka Egbuka falls to our pick in the 2nd are you taking him ? Seems like his skill set is what Shanahan adores.
