I like watching Mukuba play. Experienced transfer from Clemson that combines top notch athletic ability and great coverage awareness to form a very well rounded DB prospect that could play either safety or nickel corner. His game against Michigan was outstanding he displayed all the traits you want to see from a modern safety. He's consistently gotten better and better throughout his college career and someone that could be of interest to the 49ers as a versatile piece on the defense.
Texas S Andrew Mukuba had himself a game yesterday. Here he knows he has deep help, so he fakes 2-high/taking the streaking WR to bait the QB into throwing under. He then keys on Michigan's play making TE to make a fantastic PBU. pic.twitter.com/tuoFs8E9E2
Texas' Mukuba Named Thorpe Award National DB of the Week, Including Morgan State's Decius as Aeneas Williams Award HBCU DB of the Week 🏈
Mukuba recorded his first interception, four total tackles and two pass break-ups for the Longhorns in a 31-12 road win over Michigan.… pic.twitter.com/04PIBmsebh
Liked him at Clemson too, he has elite short area quickness but looked on the light side. He would definitely look good in the slot and deep safety in the NFL. He is so quick

Fills a major hole for us. Starks will be out of our range but I'd love this pick. One of the few holes to plug to make our defense whole.
he missed first half vs Texas due to targetting (lmao). When he was back in game he forced the fumble leading to the safety
team defensive mvp last year
this year, "Simmons was one of only 10 players in the country not credited with a TD allowed — despite playing the third-most slot coverage snaps in the country (357) among FBS slot defenders. Opponents have just a 76.7 NFL QBR (quarterback rating) when targeting Simmons, the 15th-lowest among FBS slot defenders."

I'd assume 1st rounder, right?
Keep seeing 4th ish
I think around mid 2nd he will be seeing interest, he is really good and a nice fit for slot/safety. He has played high level competition and has always played hard in the games I have seen. Ridiculous short area quickness, perhaps a bit smallish for safety. Definite yes for me, seems like the kind of player Lynch would like.

4th round for a db running a 4.33??
Draft sites need to catch up. He was going to be the next Derwin James level prospect after his freshman year. Then his play dropped to an UDFA level. Transferred to Texas and had an amazing year. Draftniks having a hard time weighing his previous poor production against this year's great production. I think body of work as a recruit, freshman year and this year plus athletic ability will outweigh his down years in most teams' minds. Hurt only by size, he's pretty slender.
