Lol that's not happening. Shanahan has never had a rookie center, nor do I believe he wants one since he puts a lot of responsibility on the center in this offense. If the 49ers upgrade at center—and we're all hoping they do—it'll come through free argency.

Yah the track record is there, he does rely on veteran centers. I'm just expecting him to take one and not necessarily starting him unless he wins outright like Puni.

I wonder if they give Puni a shot to play center. I believe it was Duke Manyweather that said Puni has the potential be an elite center. Maybe the Niners give him a chance there since he's definitely earned their trust with his rookie year.

Honestly I'd like to see them bring in a veteran maybe Drew Dalman and try Puni at RT. I bet he's an upgrade over McKivitz, yes thats not saying much. Lol

Major upgrade's need to be made on the O-line next season!!!

Puni did work at center in the senior bowl. He can do it. Though I'm much more eager to see if Bartch can do it. If he can, that's a huge financial benefit.

We still need to get IOL depth regardless and Jones could be the Feliciano who could play each spot.

Included him in my most recent mock 😎

I get it, but im tired of sifting through the landfill for olinemen (especially centers) and wish they would invest in some talent higher in the draft. Having a legit center would then make me think sifting through garbage to find decent guards is more viable.

I agree actually. Way harder to find a star center than guard after the fact. Yet we do the opposite. I still find myself enraged over us taking Banks over Humphrey. I would've thought that anyone who wasn't blind could see he was a future star, but apparently that was expecting too much.

I want them to draft THE center, not to be chasing down someone else's sloppy seconds. Bring in a guy that can start for a decade plus and build a good working relationship with your young QB.

I completely agree, but I feel like they passed on this last draft. I think a Great center paired with a very good tackle stabilizes the line. The rest need to be average.

Seeing Brendel crap the bed and being limited financially might hopefully be the motivation Kyle needs. I think Jones would be a solid addition. I like that he has a lot of upside as he's still fairly new to playing on the offensive side of the ball and has already progressed by leaps and bounds.

This. Build your center. We have been chasing the FA center and vet center forever. Kyle knows what he wants. Draft a guy with elite traits and get him where you need to be. To add, I don't think any solution that has us looking to free agency is a real solution.

Welp
Seems like there are no good C options in this draft.

We really should have jumped on one of those 1st-2nd round C this past draft.

Now we will have to either go to FA or stick with an in house option

Maybe the LG Bartch who played well in the 1 game he played can play C.
