They need to hit on first rounders too. Whoever they draft round 1 should be day 1 starter.

Here is the tentative look at next week pending the updated strength of schedule. 49ers could move to #13 with a loss to the Bears and wins by Dolphins and Cowboys.

13. Dolphins (5-7) vs. Jets (3-9)
14. Cowboys (5-7) vs. Bengals (4-8)
15. 49ers (5-7) vs. Bears (4-8)
16. Colts (6-7) bye
17. Buccaneers (6-6) vs. Raiders (2-10)
18. Cardinals (6-6) vs. Seahawks (7-5)
19. Rams (6-6) vs. Bills (10-2)

Side note: all the teams are at home and will probably be favored except the Rams will be underdogs vs. Bills. My guess is that 49ers will still be at #15 after these games.

Why did McDaniel and Saleh have to get ambitious and get their own coaching gig only to see their teams underperform. McDaniel looks like he aged 10 years since he took the Miami HC job. Need to bring back the physicality. Prioritize a physical run game. Get a C in FA and LG in the draft.

Yes but undrafted. So unless you put a 1st or 2nd round tender on him you have very little control. Just ability to match.

With the 49ers SOS it will be difficult to get a top 10 pick if they win more than 1 remaining game. My guess is that they will end up 7-10. But honestly it wouldn't surprise me if they went 5-12 or 9-8 at this point. I could see them rallying to win a bunch of meaningless games.

You have to take your bite at the apple when you get a shot. It's unrealistic to expect guys to stay on, but I do wish we didn't have as much of a brain drain as what we experienced. Both McDaniel and Saleh experienced what did Kyle in early on- questions at the QB position. No coach, save for Mike Tomlin, is immune to it.

Contracts, extensions, and peoples futures arw on the line. There are no meaningless games.

I think Deebo plays out his current deal. I do like the idea of CMC in the Deebo role and we get a primary back. Honestly, if Mitchell could stay healthy, he'd be in that role. However, CMC as a receiver would put a corner on him most times. McCaffrey is a very good receiver, but is he goos enough being covered by a true DB on most snaps?

With a win over the Rams, the 49ers would fall to pick #18. With a loss, the range is pick #13 thru #17 depending on how the other teams with a 6-7 record perform.
