A top ten pick, should ensure us one of the top edge rushers. We badly need to give Bosa a bookend.

Both QBs, Travis Hunter, Will Johnson, Abdul Carter, Kelvin Banks, Mykel Williams. You could make a solid case for all of those guys going before him. That puts him anywhere from 4 to 8, the latter part being in realistic trade up range if the 49ers were so moved.

There's also the possibility that McMillan and Stewart go HAM at the Combine and you might see him drop another spot even.

I don't disagree, but I cant see us trading up. Mainly because we need about 7 upgrades starters along the trenches alone so I think they say put. It looks like we will pick around 11 but as high as 10. So yes we could be within striking distance and I would argue him next to Bosa would be epic, but if they do stay put we should have someone there who can immediately upgrade the o line or d line or anywhere really. It's going to be hard for me to justify a d lineman over a immediate starting tackle as well. Plenty of time to digest this lol

If you have any opportunity to get a possible gamechanger like Graham, you figure out a way to make it happen. The impact he'd have on this defense, creating more opportunities for Bosa, limiting the opposition's ability to run the football and freeing up Fred Warner would be incredible. There's a chance he might fall because teams already have high $/highly drafted DT's(Raiders, Titans, Jets) or simply because they'll put more of a premium elsewhere, such as quarterback, cornerback or edge rusher.

At this point the 49ers need quality over anything else, the best possible players they can get their hands and if you just had a really crap season, the least you can hope to do is walk out of the draft with a blue chip talent and that's exactly what Graham is.
How many draft picks are we expecting to have?
I saw own 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 6th and 7th
plus extra 3rd 4th and 3 7th. Is it accurate?

Prior to the season I saw the comp projection as follows
  • Demeco (3rd)
  • Darnold (5th)
  • Woerner (7th)
The Demeco pick is guaranteed and I'm thinking Darnold's play this year will yield a pick higher than 5th. So at minimum we have 9 picks.

Wonder which direction they go this year? The Pearsall pick surprised me last year. We need help in a few places, will one of those spots be addressed in the 1st?

Hopefully offensive tackle.

I'm thinking OT, DE or DT.

Darnolds "play" is irrelevant. The pick is based on the contract he signed

I think DT might be an even bigger need. But they definetely need to go Dline with the 1st pick. I would even double down and go Dline with the 1st 2 picks. It needs more than 1 piece.

Maybe but not the biggest need. If they go defense I would rather have a beast in the middle of the line.

Interesting that so many think D line should be the first pick. Maybe it will be if there is a better defensive player when their turn comes but the 49ers are 2nd in yards per game allowed. Unfortunately they're 21st in points allowed . The offense is 8th overall.

The strength of the draft, at least early, is definitely DL and DT is loaded.

And I don't care how they do it but they need to prioritize the trenches. Go OT Round 1? Cool. Find a legit DT in Round 2. Then add to the interior OL in Round 3. Add another DT and OT somewhere later on in the draft too.

I think it should be BPA at this point. So many holes. A DE/DT would probably be the best value. Or one of the top 2 OTs.

1000%. They prioritize the trenches like this and they'll be in good shape not just next year but going forward. Really hoping they see it this way. Gotta win in the trenches. This team with its talent would thrive and be extremely tough to beat if consistently winning in the trenches.

If they want a veteran at C, make it a priority to get a guy like Dalman in FA.

If the draft is loaded at DL then we'll probably draft a corner in the first
