The strength of the draft, at least early, is definitely DL and DT is loaded.

And I don't care how they do it but they need to prioritize the trenches. Go OT Round 1? Cool. Find a legit DT in Round 2. Then add to the interior OL in Round 3. Add another DT and OT somewhere later on in the draft too.

100% agree. Rebuild the trenches. They did thus when they first took over in 2017 and it was successful. They have good enough skill players assuming even half of them come back healthy next year. Purdy is good enough at QB to win if they can give him more time to throw.
OL and run defense need massive upgrading
Draft best olineman first round, Kenneth Grant/xavier watts in 2nd. Let Huf walk. Sign Greenlaw

Usually this regime tries to plug as many holes as possible via the cheap during FA. I'd say this is ok but results are mixed.

I bet those two safeties go higher than projected. But this looks like a very good safety class at the top.
So many needs tht almost any pick would be fine as long as heends up contributing. Even areas of strength are aging so young talent is needed to replace them in coming years. They just can't afford too many misses since they'll be drafting high this year. Thye don't get a lot of chances to draft in the top 10-15 without trading up.

Almost has to be tackle or edge right?

Grant is a DL. I do think Watts ends up late first unfortunately.

There have been more "has beens or never beens" signed in FA by the Niners. Need proven home run hitters (a la the L$A$ Dodger$)

I don't see us beating the Lions. I can, however, see the Saints beating the Raiders, knowing that nothing is a given.

They play the Bucs to end the season. I expect the Bucs to be highly motivated as they battle the Falcons for the NFC South division.

There is faint hope that the Saints are highly motivated to upset the Bucs, divisional games being hard fought and all.

Outside of that we are likely just to end up with the 11th slot in the draft order.

Or worse if we win @ AZ. Hopefully the 49ers shut down all the starters in Week 18.

The game vs. Arizona is going to be interesting. Two teams actively trying to lose. Should be a fun watch.

Neither team will try to lose. It's not like they have a chance for the #1 overall pick with a QB like Andrew Luck sitting there. Players are playing for jobs next season whether it's with their current team or someone in free agency.

I don't think the 49ers will try to lose but it would be smart to sit Purdy if you plan to play him. There's nothing he can do in that game that should change their opinion of him.

At #11 there will be good options as positions of need (OT, DT, DE). More than anything else the 49ers needs better blocking and better tackling at the line.
