Elic Ayomanor WR Stanford

this guy is physical as f**k. Amazing run blocker. Big strong on contested catches. Has good straight line speed. RZ threat? Slot/vertical threat on the outside. Wouldn't call him a separator

I feel like this is a 49er player and him and JJ would block people into the parking lot. I've see a day 2 draft grade.

thoughts from west cost folks who watch Stanford on the reg?

He's big, he can beat you on a slant, he can beat you deep and he's an excellent run blocker who's "got that dog in him"

He has shown flashes of strong hands, but he needs to improve the consistency of his hand technique at the catch point instead of letting balls into his chest.

If QJ can go 21st overall, Ayomanor probably doesn't make it out of the 2nd round. But if he's there in the third or later, and we have to let Deebo walk, he'd be a primary target for me.

Agreed.
Niners spent a lot of time with him today

Hopefully this is a contingency plan for if we trade down @ 11 and pick up another second or third. Without a trade down I would hate to use one of our early pics on a wide receiver with all the defensive players that will be there. I do not think he'll make it to 75 which means we would have to use 43 on him.
I agree, I don't want us to use either first rounder or second rounder on a WR

I have mixed thoughts on Ayomanor from my limited film study. Has an injury history. His hands are a big issue. For a WR who doesnt have great speed or acceleration, having bad hands means taking a gamble on his route running. His route running is pretty crisp. Good hands in terms of hand fighting. Good contested ball catcher but this offense never really revolves around catching contested balls, and Brock is not the type of QB who will just throw it up for grabs often. Great blocker. Wont wow people with YAC but definitely will fight for yards. Solid against press coverage and can play outside.

This draft is not deep at WR, especially those who can play the X. I think he will be off the draft board in late 2nd before we can pick again. I don't want him earlier than third.

He would make a nice Jennings replacement because as it stands this is probably Jennings last year as a 49er because we are on a thrift shop budget. But I don't think he lasts until the 3rd
He will go mid second round. Only way we get him is if we trade back in the first and add another second round pick. I am a Stanford fan and he is a very good receiver. He reminds me of Mike Evans, but more speed and athleticism

Mike Evans with more speed and athleticism. So a top 10 pick then

Yeah, I was also confused by this lol....
I'm extremely in, just his run blocking would have got me on board. I think he goes very top of the 2nd to one of the needy teams at the top of the draft. Titans, Pats, Giants, Browns. Yet all of those teams have needs everywhere. Only thing that helps is Higgins, the Iowa St guy, is very similar, but bigger and possibly smoother. Could take one of the needy teams and have him falling a bit.

Wouldn't surprise me one iota if Harbaugh sees what we do and takes him in the 1st.
One of my favorite WRs in the draft. Every time I watched Stanford he did something that stood out even though it didn't always show on the stat sheet. 49ers gold helmet player easily
I like him, I don't think he's gonna go as early as some people project. I see more of a 3rd rd guy than 2nd rd.
