Jared Ivey-DE-Ole Miss

More of a 49ers style DL that can be moved around a bit although he's best suited as a base down DE that really excels at stuffing the run. Some of the things I really like about him is that he tends to take good angles to the ballcarrier, makes a lot of stops at or behind the line of scrimmage, seems to be more instinctual and easily finds his way to the ball rather than a guy that just tends to guess and is extremely tenacious with a motor that doesn't stop which results in him picking up quite a few coverage sacks. He's not a well developed pass rusher at this point but its an area that he has shown real improvement in.

I think if the 49ers want to get back to being a dominant defense and being able to win up front and stop the run, they're going to need some more guys just like Ivey. Right now I think he's probably a late 2nd to late 3rd rounder but a good Senior Bowl could move him up quite a bit. I like him at DE a lot more than I do his linemate Nolen at DT.

I'd love him to be one of our third round picks, Reminds me of Charles Omenihu

Dude absolutely blew the hell up in college.

The more I've seen, the more I like. I think he could more than adequately play the Armstead role as a base DE that moves inside on passing downs. Could also see him develop into a bigger three down edge rusher with his quickness, bend and ridiculous motor.

I don't know if he's going to be great but I think at absolute worst he becomes a crucial contributor as a rotational lineman that play outside and inside. Has the makings of a guy that can be a monster in eating up the run.

You get a proper NT with some pass rush skills inside and Ivey on the end and that's a huge step towards making this a dominant, run stuffing defense again.

I think he's way more of a pass rusher then AA was coming out, but I understand the comparison, just did a mock and a future line of Bosa-Graham-Cominsky ( free agent DL I like to sign from Detroit) and Ivey would be great against the run and the pass imo

Ivey is one of my guys in this draft. Our D line is decimated and while he doesnt fit the exact needs of a 3 down DE or 3 down DT, hes such a versatile piece to move around. Base end in rushing situations. Can move to DT in passing spots. I think it made more sense when he had Floyd, to have that power complement, but its still a good fit.

Yep. I wouldn't mind him in the 2nd if we go DT in round 1.

Hes going to be tough to play against and fits what we want for a wide 9 end.

Walker makes no sense for this team and what they value at DE.
