James Pearce Jr. - Edge - Tennessee

"Pearce Jr. is the closest thing to Brian Burns since Brian Burns."

Love it! Seriously though, great work. Keep it up.

Better. He looks like he could add weight without losing speed. He is blazing fast and quick. I bet an NFL weight program could add 10-15 pounds to his frame without issue.

I think this is the guy i want at 11 if we go edge. First year just let him be a pass rush specialist. See if he can bulk up in year 2-3 to become a every down player.

Go watch his games Vs Georgia. He did nothing.

Nobody should be judged off one game.

Abdul Carter did nothing against West Virginia. In fact his pff grade was 43.9. Pearce never had a grade lower than 60. Does that mean Abdul Carter is not good either?

Pearce is the one I want if we go edge.
Great post and I'm in 100% agreement on Pearce and the other guys you commented on.
Willians is very talented but nowhere near the pop or body control Pearce has. Willoans may be safer due to his size and ability in the run game, but Pearce has the potential to be a top flight pass rusher pretty early on.
at 11, give me the guy with elite pass rushing ability and production.
Pearce definitely charted well. Curious to see his numbers at the combine, definitely in play at 11.

I hope he's not in play at 11
Maybe there is a reason Pierce has dropped out of the #1 spot as a draft prospect. Kid is talented but he has never been a full time starter. So far, he has been a rotational player on a very deep defense. Would you want the Niners to invest the #11 pick on a projection or on someone who has plenty of snaps under his belt?

If you don't like him then he's probably a hall of famer.

He's already said that he may turn out good just not the kind of DE he wants. I respect that.

Never said I didn't like him. Just not at 11.

also I think some of my mock drafts in the past turned out to be quality drafts with some damn good NFL players.

Nobody bats 100%. I think it's better to have your stance and provide why, rather than say nothing and criticize others like you knew anything at all
Hearing he's got off field concerns
