With the 11th overall pick..

in this draft, it seems like the "blue chip players" are mostly gone after pick # 5 or # 6 so i suspect like any team, the FO will try to grab as high an impact player that they can get at #11....there's so many factors that play into that decision, ( including luck ) that i wouldn't say who that might be for now. Edge,WR and OT's are expensive positions and with the recent big reduction in the acquisition budget that could be a driving factor overall. rounds 3,4 and 5 are huge, hopefully they choose well.

I think you should make your mind right with it maybe being Stewart.

Can see Kocurek pleading his case with him being the pick. Lions grabbed a VERY similar toolsy player all the way at 5 I think in Ziggy Ansah when he was coaching there.

I'd rather have Omarion Hampton at #11 than Shemar Stewart.

At least we know we're getting a great player.

Stewart is straight up hopium due to physical traits and should not be drafted anywhere near the top half of the first round. If we really wanted him and traded back to 25 then fine cuz we grab a lot of extra picks with it.

Just get great players. Stewart is not one of them and I doubt he ever will be.

I wouldn't go as far as your first line lol but I agree with your point overall. I'm hoping we keep our strategy from last year which seemed to be investing in proven guys who don't have injury concerns or off the field issues.

I will say it does seem like his pass rush could've been stunted by scheme and him showing up well at the Senior bowl does lend itself to maybe better things ahead, especially in a scheme like ours.

Just saying to brace yourself…
Jihaad Campbell would be amazing! He definitely brings the same energy as Greenlaw. He's an edge, a linebacker, and a safety all in one.
I just hope they stick with older players at premium colleges. No more North Dakota State or liberty before the late rounds. Give me Texas, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, etc. 5 star players, not guestimates

I'm not sure what you mean by read and react style on the D-line?

A&M doesn't ask their DL to always fire off the ball and get up field.

So wait 300 passing snaps and he doesn't get up field? Don't get me wrong he plays the run really well, maybe if he bulked up to 290 he could play inside.

But from what I see as a pass rusher, I wouldn't take him at #11. All the top pass rushers in the NFL have a good amount of sacks in their college careers. The only payer that has the same amount of sacks as Shemar Stewart in college is Danielle Hunter, but he was taken in the 3rd.

Honestly, I know its not in the budget this season, but I would just give the Bengals 2nd and 5th round picks for Trey Hendrickson. No DE's really do it for me in the 1st round.

When you watch TA&M, youll notice the entire DL often pops straight up at the snap. They don't fire off the ball, the first step is straight up. It has been confirmed they are coached to do this.

I'm sorry but based off what?

his instincts & play recognition are inconsistent at best. He's not a good off ball LBer imo. Not for what we need as far as a Dre replacement.

like others said he's more Tremaine Edmunds than Greenlaw or Fred.

Imo he's not a first rd LBer and is being pushed up the board because the LBer class lacks any type of real dude.

would be an awful pick in the first.
