With the 11th overall pick..

Kittle is going to the HOF, so unless Warren is a HOF tight end there will be a downgrade. This draft has to be about the trenches in the first few rounds. They have shown in the past they want to invest in the trenches.
Too many are approaching this draft with the mindset of "how do I make this team as competitive as possible, THIS year?" Unless we quite literally hit on every single pick, which is next to impossible, I think being a true contender this year is a ship that has sailed. We will pick someone at 11 who most improves this team in 2026 and beyond. Ideas of "we already at least have bodies on the OL and nothing on the DL" does not mean we should take an inferior prospect just because there's a bigger hole. We have holes everywhere, and where we don't have a hole, we have an aging player. We should prioritize the trenches, because that's where team building/rebuilding starts, but then just focus on getting the best players, regardless of offense vs defense and regardless of who is and isn't currently on the roster

Also, shemar stewart. That is all.

Great post, the problem is that Trent will definitely retire if we don't look like competing, and if you start the Brock gets paid era badly everyone says "You were only good because Brock was a rookie" then no one wants to play for you.

I need to watch Shemar, but I'm always scared of combine warriors. I've heard A&M didn't put him in the best place to be successful, but I'm wary

I'm down with that thinking in 2 years. Kittle has slowed down but still has gas left in the tank.

Now if you tell me they will both play 80% + snaps and you're going to move them both around, then I could be convinced.

Huddle with BA, JJ, Kittle, Warren & CMC. See who the D rolls out. If it's light go tight 12 or 21 and run, if it's heavy go spread. Good luck finding a defense that could cope with both.

We won't get to huddle because our D won't get off the field

A team with Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, D Lenoir, Trent Williams, CMC, Kittle and Puni will be competetive.

If the offense stays healthy, I believe the 9ers can still be competitive. And with Saleh back, that should give the team a more competitive edge than last season, face it Nick Sorensen was a huge problem on defense.
trade back for a future pick grab an OT early 20s

They can still be competitive since they will be playing a last place schedule this year. You never know for sure how good teams will be but on paper it should be an easier path to the playoffs.

Gonna be pissed if the 49ers take Shemar Stewart with the 11th pick. I want production in college if I'm gonna be taking a player in the 1st round.

37 starts in three seasons and only 4.5 sacks, 1.5 sacks each season. Dear god no.

I feel like its possible to do both. They should be able to acquire someone that can be a strong contributor as a rookie and also with an eye on getting better in the following years. They have so many crucial spots open that it'd be remarkably incompetent to not find someone that can be an immediate boost.

Absolutely, especially at pick 11. But that's kinda my point: get the player who boosts the overall team, not who fills the biggest hole.

I'm not passing on Membou for another prospect if the only reason is "well I've already got McKivs**tz and I don't have a Will LB...."

We had these players minus CMC for different stretches last year. We were not competitive. All year "we just need greenlaw back" he aint coming back. "We just miss Hargrave" there is no more hargrave. "We just need a competent center" there is no competent center. "We just need to get Jayair Brown outta here, wait for Huf!" Brown is slated to start. Again, this is all remedied with an 11/11 draft, but that's unlikely.

This is my problem. How do you take Stewart with that little production? I would rather take Mykel Williams who performed and is only 20, or Mike Green if they go Edge. That entire A&M line underperformed despite the fact that all four are going to be drafted.

I agree go BPA, but BPA should factor in position importance. I would be fine with Membou. Could they place him at LG at first? If not him, this draft is too good and deep at dline not to draft it at 11 and 43, and probably later in the draft as well. A lot depends on how many first round grades the team has on players. The conundrum will be if the only first round graded players left at 11 are g, wr, te, or other less needed and important positions. Hope that a team wants to trade up for Shedeur assuming he is still available.

The last time we took someone with little production, high ceiling was Trey, how did that turn out for us? #11 should be the best OT or DT available, my preference is DT, defense wins championships!
