I actually feel pretty optimistic after last yrs draft. I'm expecting similar results. Good young starters, probably not a bunch of pro-bowlers.

I'm feeling optimistic about our later picks, have 0 expectations of #11. Expecting Solomon Thomas level production.

Last years starters weren't young.

Even if it was schemed up it was still production, and he was a beast in the red zone. I don't want Warren, but I'd much rather him to Shemar Stewart.

I could live with Mykel Williams, but I'm certain there would be someone on my board over both of them.

I'm prepared to be disappointed.

I don't want either for different reasons. I mean I could say all the same stuff about Fannin as far as production, YAC and RZ ability goes. He's gonna be a late day 2 guy (I'm also not a Fannin guy just making a point) you want production, no one had more than him last yr.

be prepared to be disappointed regardless. This draft class at the top is underwhelming. They all got their warts. A whole lot of squinting going on to see anything substantial in the NFL imo.

with Williams, I know I'm getting a legit starting DE that can stuff the run, who's only 20, with top end measurables and size to grow into a all around plus DE.

They're younger than the vets we had playing in their spots. That's what I meant by that.

I mean even Thomas had production in college 8 sacks as a IDL his last yr…its almost more than Graham had in his whole career at Michigan.

It's all about what translates to the NFL, who's coachable and athletic ability.

maybe it's down to williams and stewart, as we continue to read the tea leaves

Nightmare situation….Mason Graham is available at 11 but Niners still select Shamar Stewart LOL.

I'm actually really in on Shemar Stewart but damn that would be nightmare fuel. What is up with everyone thinking Graham drops??

It's obviously not just production, but I need to see at least flashes of what I want, I can squint and see some from Williams at least, see nothing out of Stewart. I would take Jeanty in a heartbeat over them.

Mason Graham is an absolute stud, he's just so smooth,. technique is perfect and that will translate.

Thomas was unblockable in his bowl game against I think North Carolina. He looked great. Just didn't translate.

Yeah I don't like SS either. Kid is so green. It's not like he's hasn't played either. He's got like 1,200 snaps under his belt. I hope to god someone like the Panthers or NO takes him.

for me at this point it's Graham/Membou ….Nolen/Harmon/Williams in no particular order for those three.

Then we played him at DE instead of DT and he was trash

If you go back and re-watch some of Solly's tape, it's still impressive with a lot of clean wins and high quality reps demonstrating high-level athletic traits. Out of boredom, I fired up some of his college games, and there are a lot of reps that remind me of Walter Nolen. For whatever reason, it just didn't translate. Maybe it was the sister suicide. Who knows, but there are prospects that don't realize their potential or translate every single draft. They're inevitable and part of the process.

Dude he kicked ass that whole season. Look back at his draft profile the comp was Justin Smith lol.

I thought he was gonna be our Michael Bennett in this Seattle like scheme. Bummer. He's gone on to make a little niche for himself in NYJ and just got signed to Dallas. Horrible pick at 3 lol.

but yeah you gotta look at what traits translate, what you need for your scheme, and are they coachable.

Yeah man the potential was there, but sometimes it doesn't work out… Lots of internal and external factors that play into that stuff.

The one game gave hope, but we all know he was a tweener who's best selling point was taking a class with Lynch.
