Eddie Royal came in bigger then i expected him too. I have seen him in person a few years ago, i remember him much smaller. I would have guessed.... 150 pounds at that time. I knew he bulked up some, but i would have guessed the 160-170 range...not on the other side of 180.

He must carry the weight in his lower body, he does not have a really strong looking upperbody. He is one of those narrow shoulder , short arm type of guys.

He would have been a really neat Scat back that at times lower his shoulder when he needed too., I just allways figured he was much to small to take that kind of punishment at the college level. He never seemed like a Natrual WR , more like a RB with good hands that was only on the Field because he was dynamic. Much too good to be an off the bench player, but not quite there to be a Go-to type Player.

Every time he got the ball , he allways seemed one split second away from takeing it to the house. Problem was...he was allways one split second off. Make 4 guys miss, stiff arm the 5th, and get taken down by your shoe laces by the 6th guy for a 9 yard gain seemed to be in M.O

He would have been perfect for the Vick "era" Hokies when the offense was much much more a sideline to sideline offense. Would have been much more room for him to work with. Lots more cut back options back then. Or even in Urban Myers offense, with the screens and draw plays being almost perfect for his stop and start running style. Hell he can out run most people in the NFL i bet.

He would be a really neat draft pick since the 49ers need a punt returner anyway. Maybe he can do something out of the slot in the NFL.

He looked good today , and got in under 4.4 in the 40 to boot. Considering how much of a functional burst he has when he gets his shoulders square on the football field, i kinda of expected a mid 4.3 though...

I thought he looked great, some of the guys just looked like they belonged out there and he was one of them.
Which WR's impressed you today? Who stuck out in your mind?

My choices:

James Hardy
Eddie Royal
Andre' Caldwell
William Franklin
Limas Sweed

Did Adarius Bowman participate today?

plan to run:
Charles, McFadden, Stewart, Jones, and Mendenhall

This is going to be a blast to watch. I would not be shocked to see McFadden as the slowest of the bunch.

why in the world would you think McFadden is the slowest of that bunch??

that really makes no sense , that is a horrible guess....

Have then run yet does anyone have the times? I would be SHOCKED if Mcfadden was not a 10th of a second faster then some of those guys.

Pwn3d big time!

McFadden's "drop" down the boards in recent weeks is yet another example of analysts having too much time on their hands. If you didn't know McFadden was blazing fast then you obviously need to re-watch the games.

Ok....I guess I can see where you are coming from just had to ask to make sure bc otherwise I was going to start pwning everyone by predicting that E. Royal is going to rep 24 times on the bench and Mario Manningham will run a 4.59 and 4.62 haha

Chris Johnson with a 4.24 OFFICIAL time? Unf**kingreal. If he's there at 29, it's tempting. Obviously we have other needs, but imagine thunder/lightning backfield of Gore/Johnson.

Caldwell is a stud. I'd love to get him a 39.

I kind of wrote Hardy off after that horrible bowl game, but his performance today is making me reconsider. If he's there at 29, he definitely needs to be considered.

Hawkins time is disappointing. But he plays much faster than that. If he falls to the 4th he'd be a great pickup.

I've been high on Bowman and I'm shocked at how poorly he's done lately. Bad Senior Bowl, horrible combine. This year's Dwayne Jarrett. But if he's there in the 3rd, I'd take him. Turn on the game tape and he's a stud.

Agree 100% about Bowman, like I said earlier, he reminds me of another big physical WR we took in the 3rd round!

I've wanting him for awhile now. He was projected to be a 2nd to 3rd rounder, but after today his stock is going to skyrocket.

He's got Brian Westbrook esque receiving skills, he's an electric kick returner, and he's one of the fastest athletes in the NFL. He could be a terror paired up with Gore.

Mike Martz is the perfect coordinator to use his talents. I know everyone wants to copy New York's system and go thunder and lightning, but with Clayton (232) or Robinson (228) already on the roster I think we'd be better off grabbing the Johnson.
