Caldwell is a stud. I'd love to get him a 39.

I kind of wrote Hardy off after that horrible bowl game, but his performance today is making me reconsider. If he's there at 29, he definitely needs to be considered.

Hawkins time is disappointing. But he plays much faster than that. If he falls to the 4th he'd be a great pickup.

I've been high on Bowman and I'm shocked at how poorly he's done lately. Bad Senior Bowl, horrible combine. This year's Dwayne Jarrett. But if he's there in the 3rd, I'd take him. Turn on the game tape and he's a stud.

Agree 100% about Bowman, like I said earlier, he reminds me of another big physical WR we took in the 3rd round!

yupp. i'd still take him if he was there in the 3rd. but now, i've been bashing hardy all this time and he made me reconsider. yo nv, how did merling and blake do?

Merling was unimpressive in the bench and I haven't looked into Blake yet, the thing that will matter most is how they run and do in positional drills.

17 which is way worse than I thought he would, in comaprison Groves did 30....I am going to have to eat crow on the Merling being able to be a OLB prediction...but we will see how he runs.

From draft daddy ...

I'd take this list from Draft Daddy with a grain of salt. Doucet is known as a very mature young man, a humble and likeable kid. It would be a very big surprise if he interviewed poorly. Meanwhile, Manningham's interviews are not going well, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

So, once again, this will all shake down over time, but sources can sometimes be a bit off.
Well, my boy Ryan Torain is pretty much done now that he had a bad 40 (4.64). He put on 10lbs and only showed average upper body strength. Real disappointing.

Wait, Quinton Groves did 30 reps?

Yea I know...he is going to skyrocket up the boards if he runs anything better than a 4.6

Sweet, I'd love to see Merling drop, but I don't think he'll last long enough either way.

Getting Groves in the 2nd is looking pretty doubtful. I've liked Crable for awhile. He might be an interesting option depending on how far he falls.

That next group, Davis, Jones, Avril, and Merling are a little disappointing with their # of reps. I mean, Royal did 24 reps for petes sake.
So from today's activity who would fit best with the Niners and who have been elimiated?

Of the guys who will be around when we pick, I'd say:

WR: Andre Caldwell, James Hardy, Devin Thomas, Eddie Royal, Dexter Jackson
RB: Chris Johnson, Tashard Choice, Matt Forte

Not sure who would be eliminated....Manningham could still fit into what Martz does, but his slow forty times could be problematic.

I wish there was more than rumor on the interviews, it is so critical in picking the right guy.

Right now none of these reporters are in there with the prospects so their reports just depends on what the reporters hear from team insiders, it is very hit or miss right now.
