cable hasn't been named the coach of anything

I know but no one else is going to take the job so IMO it's Cable again.

Yeah, who the hell wants to go to the Raiders.

at least we get OC candidates to come out here. coaches around the league probably see Al Davis on their caller ID, and hide under their bed while it rings.
I find it ironic that their coach's name is Cable, yet half of their games can't be seen on T.V.

Thank you, I'll be here all week!

I didn't hear that anyone else even interviewed for the job. I'm guessing all requests were turned down so they went with the only guy they could.

I heard fassel wanted the job....but who knows

Heard that as well, but they didn't even talk to him? He was actually my choice for our OC job and I don't know why we didn't even talk to him.

I was hoping our 9ers would bring in Al Saunders...he has tons of experience and made Larry Johnson a premier rusher when he was in KC.

Saunders isn't a bad OC, I wonder why we haven't atleast interviewed him.

I brought this up in niner talk. Saunders would be a good candidate to interview, but he doesn't run the WCO offense. He primarily runs the Coryell offense. I don't think we'll have a QB that fits the mold of that offense on our team for a while.

If they can upgrade their O-line and add another WR or two, they can have a very respectable and dangerous offense.

I really don't see your point. Raye runs a version of the Coryell system as well.

IMO what did Saunders in was his ineffectiveness to make the most of Bulger. Having a pro bowl QB not being able to produce won't get you many interviews.

It’s going to get bloody.

– Although I haven’t received absolute confirmation, I’ve heard Al Saunders would not accept an offer to be Raiders offensive coordinator. He may have already turned it down.

I wonder if other teams laughed at us when Linehan declined
Fassel would of been best choice .
Cable is just a puppet with no qualities .
Fassel would of been a puppet but wit a coach with a winning experience.

Of course, but it still feels good to laugh at the Raiders.

Yep. I understand Linehans reasonings behind it so i can care less if people consider that situation a joke. At least Linehan had another job opportunity.

Saunders will basically rather sit out the year than coach for the Raiders under Al Davis. Not to many job opportunities left.
According to the National Football Post, the Raiders are expected to name Ted Tollner as offensive coordinator and John Marshall as defensive coordinator.
Tollner, 68, was recently fired as 49ers quarterbacks coach. He has had short stints as coordinator in San Diego, San Francisco, and Detroit without much success. Marshall, 63, has been the Seahawks defensive coordinator for the past three seasons. Feb. 3 - 9:23 am et

they have to resort to our fired QB coach as OC. now would people stop complaining about Jimmy Raye? it could be worse.
