Vick signs with Eagles

Shop 49ers game tickets
NFLN said last night the Rams were "evaluating" signing him. That was the only team even mentioned, I believe.

Vick in the NFC West? Playing the Rams here would be interesting...
I'm a sad panda if we don't at least think about signing him and talk to him.

Singletary has already shut down the idea of Vick coming to SF.

Why not? He's paid his dues to society, he's a good football player, and we can use another weapon on offense.

Ban for lying

he is a good football player. and id rather have him than have drafted sanchez's weak ass

Excluding W-L's, I'm gonna say Sanchez has a better statistical career than what Mike Vick has done so far. Oh and here's the catch, as a passing QB, not as a QB that runs around like a chicken with its head cut off. Mark Sanchez is a far better passer than what Vick will ever be.

I would rather a QB be more successful in wins and losses.

I exclude W-L's because it takes a team to Win or Lose a game, credit shouldn't fall all on one player. Surprising you don't know that due to the long Smith vs. Hill threads.

Well OK if that's the case then, the almighty Vick can take blame for that 7-9 record in 2006.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if you think that Vick would not elevate this team then you must have a very high opinion of Smith, Hill or Somebody unknown.

IDK what applies to you, but some people who oppose the signing do so because he was convicted of a crime. A crime that did not become a crime in many jurisdictions until his conviction. But, the irony of that position is that it takes away from the whole. Criminal justice is the second largest budget in most states and has grown faster than any other one over the past 15 years. That money did not just appear; instead it was taken from other budget items and increased taxes. So while the money is drying up for other important areas such as schools, parks and (cough) stadiums; people like Vick continue to recycle because some of you think and act to reduce their opportunities. You find some twisted justification for your thinking while your taxes increase and government services decline. Dumb as hell!

Vick will play and I am inclined to believe that he will improve whatever team he goes on. And many of you including the ownership should; but probably won't feel stupid if the team's current QBs play at a level that is mediocre best. Why? One of the seven sins will blind you from looking in the mirror.

Vick is going to fill the stands and PETA and the other haters will be overshadowed by the Humane Society; the millions who will support him and reasonable people.

Don't be mistaken. Sing wants him as well as a coaching staff which is positioned to best include him as they have coached him before. But just as one journalist stated; the ownership does not have the balls as Eddie did. Cowards shrinking to minute minds AKA...haters.

Please, I've gone over many times with you what I dislike about Vick, and my opinion will never change.

Could he be an upgrade for this team, sure, but for how long. Like I said, I'd rather have a QB that utilizes his weapons around him, rather than any one person trying to do it by himself, aka Michael "one trick pony" Vick. Sure he would be good for the wildcat formation, but seriously, how many times would we use it, no more than 2-3 times a game. Putting Vick in for that very formation would pretty much be a dead give away (since he sucks as a passer), LB's would just stay in there zone waiting for him. What happen when the Phins faced the Pats the second time....48-28, where was that silly wildcat offense then??

(but that's just MY opinion of the Wildcat)
i say fu** it and sign him..we wont get any worse if hes on our team if anything we would get better

I agree with your opinion of the wildcat, well im not a fan of it at all. But the difference is Vick is an actual quarterback where Brown is a running back throwing the ball. I dont think Vicks biggest problem was his accuracy i think he didnt/doesnt know when to use touch on his passes. The guy fires every pass resulting in a lot of dropped passes while in ATL.
I'm indifferent. I don't think there is any harm (besides the public image of our team) in bringing him in. I'm a dog lover myself, and think that Michael Vick has more than served his time (he was made an example of by the legal system). With that said, I don't want Vick as a quarterback as we already have three guys with just as much if not more unproven quarterback potential (and there's already a chance that Nate Davis might have to go down to the PS).

I'd like to have him as a utility player. Let him settle into the league doing things like Wildcat, maybe some receiver, maybe returning kicks. He's been out far too long to get thrown back into the qb position (the toughest position in football). He'd be like Cody Picket times ten. It wouldn't hurt to fool around with in preseason rather than play some scrubs who are guaranteed not to make the active roster.
