I would do a Ricky Williams-style trade to get him.

Obviously he's a talented QB, but he sounds like a freaking diva all the way . . . even more so than most NFL QB's.

IF we can workout a deal with Denver what would you consider a viable deal to get him?

Maybe Nolan will take a reunion with Roman. Straight-up trade?

Perhaps they could package Alex with a pick. I'd like our Niners to keep Shaun Hill around as a backup. But, if they had Alex and Cutler on the same team, it'd be disaster waiting to happen.
Not that its going to happen but if it did, Hill would almost certainly have to be part of the deal. Even if Denver planned to use the 49ers No. 10 pick on Mark Sanchez, they would need a QB until Sanchez was ready. Given Hill's low cap number and his recent success, they might have some interest in him under this scenario. They would not, however, have much interest in Smith given his health issues and that he has not played in a regular season game since Game 4 of the 2007 season.
With that said, why exactly would having Smith and Cutler on the same team be a "disaster waiting to happen?"

While there are Internet rumors out there that the 49ers would be interested in talking trade with Denver for quarterback Jay Cutler, that's all they are - rumors. The 49ers are not interested in Cutler.
