But I mean come on
in his last 5 games he threw 4 TDs and 5 INTs

So who cares about the last five games. That dude is everything that Alex Leaf is not.
blah I just dont get how other teams are so ready to get play makers and we are just like nah. lol frustrating. Hope we have a badass draft. I'm just tired of seeing the rich get richer. we need to make something happen!
go niners!!!

well first my bad it was his last 4 games

but to get to your comment, obvious the broncos care. Mike Shanahan cares! If the Broncos win one of the last three games, this could of been a whole different playoffs maybe even Superbowl.

It was funny cause they where talking about this over on NFLN
Eisner called everyone out, he said something like "Wait a minute, after week 17, you all were talking about how terrible he is and how much of a huge choke he is"
It was classic

I would give a 2nd round draft choice in this years draft and a 3rd next year. Oh yeah, a herseys chocolate bar with it too.
I am probably one of the biggest Cutler fans around and would absolutely be willing to sell the farm to get him... However, assuming that Denver would be willing to part with him for something less that an equally talented QB (a big assumption) - I think the niners might have a package that most other franchises would have a tough time putting together... Here it is:

Draft Picks: 1st rounder (2009), 2nd rounder (2010), 4 rounder (2010)

Players: I know that most of us here (except for the unabashed Smith-a-holics) dont think that Alex is worth the charmon ultra he wipes his butt with (yea I just quoted Varstiy Blues), but that doesnt mean that he lacks the necessary PHYSICAL (not mental or instinctual) ability to play the position... And really, thats all that Cassel had coming into the league.

As a matter of fact, Smith and Cassel are actually very similar in terms of the tools they each possessed coming into the league - average to above-average arm strength, excellent athleticism, and zero playing experience in a pro-style offense. Additionally, it is quite clear that Smith is the most comfortable out of the shotgun - which McDaniels employs about 70% of the time. Couple that with the fact that Alex is still only 24 years old, meaning that he could afford to sit and learn for a couple seasons (just like cassel did) and still be in the prime of his career (physically speaking).

So if McDaniels is as conceited as he appears to be, Im sure that he would be confident in the fact that if anyone could turn our fallen star into a starting caliber QB - its him!!! And we might have something.

So your giving the Broncos a 1st, 2nd, 4th, and Alex Smith?
yes... and if anything more is required - I'd be willing to part with Lawson. Then we grab Larry English in the 2nd to fill the void.

lmao. That was possibly the worst trade I've ever seen, nice work abowers.

KC gets Cassel for literally a second round pick, and it looks like the Patriots will trade that 2nd round pick for Julius Peppers. We're here talking about trading 3 picks, including the #10 for Jay Cutler? Wow.

I want Cutler as much as the next 49er fan, but for a 25-year old the dude is a huge f**king vagina and really needs to man-the-f**k-up.

Trading for Cutler would give us wins, playoffs, sales of tickets and product, prime time games and a happy fan base.

There is NO reason we shouldn't make a move on him.

This seems like BS but I will share anyway.

This is unconfirmed.

However, an inside source says a trade will bring Jay Cutler to Washington is almost complete.

The leak came roughly about one hour ago. Negotiations between Cutler’s agent, Pat Bowlen, Daniel Snyder, and the Cleveland Browns management have been ongoing for a few days and all sides seem to be happy.

The deal would see Jay Cutler, Tony Scheffler, and Cleveland’s third round pick going to Washington.

Jason Campbell and Chris Cooley going to Cleveland and one of Denver’s fifth round picks.

Brady Quinn going from Cleveland to Denver, and LaRon Landry from Washington will be going to Denver. We thought that the Bailey-Portis trade was big.

Our source says that teams will announce the deal at 5 p.m. this evening.

That kind of stuff only happens in the NBA: 5 team trades.

This would be beyond stupid for Cleveland. I really do not grasp what they are getting in this deal, Campbell and Cooley and a 5th..... B.S.
