With solid pass protection, I don't think Alex Smith will turn the ball over very often. The same cannot be said for Cutler. He'll pass up the wide open target to bomb it down the field into double and triple coverage. He is a turnover machine. The fact of the matter is he has such a strong arm that like Favre he tries to make impossible throws & he needs a coach not afraid to call him out on this (I think we have a coach willing to do that), but most of the all time great strong armed QB's made bad throws but they also won big because that is something that can be corrected with good coaching but elite skill sets can not be coached up or taught you either have it or you don't and Cutler definitely has IT.

Probably Cutler. But I like Alex and I think he'll be a good QB for us in years to come. I don't think we need a QB as much as some users think.

Hell, the niners should be doing everything they can to get this guy right now.

Brandon Marshall, the best WR in the league, is a lot better player than Cutler.
